Solution .45 disband

2024-05-21 by Toondude | 26 Comments
Swedish melodeth supergroup Solution.45, who were spearheaded by former Scar Symmetry vocalist Christian Älvestam, has announced that they have officially disbanded. The group posted on their social media platforms a message to their fans.

"Dear fans and followers, we’re sad to inform you all that we’ve reached the end of the line - Solution .45 is no more‼️

We’ve dug deep trying to find that motivating and inspiring spark again, but unfortunately it’s just not there anymore. When we decided to get this ball rolling again back in early 2023 we thought we still had it in us and God knows we’ve tried to get on the right track these last 1,5 years, but no matter what direction we’ve steered, it has just felt forced, joyless and all for the wrong reasons. So after several new attempts, different starting points and countless meetings, we’ve mutually agreed on that’s it’s for the best putting this giant to rest, for good (which we actually did already back in December last year). There’s simply a time and place for everything and clearly, in hindsight, the time and place for S.45 is in the past. Our hearts and wills are evidently elsewhere these days and without those two ingredients in the mix, no matter how hard you try, the outcome will not be satisfactory or worthwhile to anyone. As sad as it might seem, calling it quits has actually been a relief for us, since trying to get this beast on its feet again has been more of an angst-ridden burden, rather than something inspiring and fun. All’s well that ends well! Then again, living in the age of comebacks and reunions, who knows what the future holds⁉️

Thanks to each and everyone of you who have supported and backed Solution .45 in any way, since the start! Your dedication and devotion have made all the difference! ❤️

With that being said, we will wrap things up by re-releasing our debut album “For Aeons Past” as a limited 2LP splatter vinyl, through AFM Records. 🔥 More news on this soon!
/Jani, Christian, Patrik, Rolf & Henric"

The band only released 3 albums throughout since they debuted in 2008, their final one, Nightmares in the Waking State: Part II was released in 2016.

Had some good times with their first album, still go back to it every now and then for a good nostalgia listen.

Yeah I used to jam their first a lot back in the day. Lost track of this band and had not listened to their last two. That will have to change now

Obviously pointing directly to you guys is an exaggeration, most found the Nightmare albums a let down and to this day I disagree, fantastic albums

Christian ALvestam also talked about his new projects.
• We are currently working on the new Cipher System album - which will soon be all done recording-wise - on which I’ll be handling the vocals.
• There’s also a new Hordes In Exile single in the pipeline, which we’ve just resumed work on.
• I’m halfway done with writing the material for my new solo album (which will be an EP this time).
• I’m also in the midst of recording guest vocals for the new Buried Realm album (I will be featured on 4 songs and on this last one, which I’m currently working on, I’m responsible for all vocals).
• We’ve also resumed work with Pre-Human Vaults, where we’ve started writing with our minds set on a new album.
• There’s also a completely new metal project in the pipeline, for which we’ve written 10-11 songs, which we will sink our teeth into once we’re done with most of the ongoing stuff mentioned here above.
• Then there’s the vinyl release of “Mörkrets Tid” and the release of the 4th CD edition of “Nidingsverk” (both Svavelvinter) coming soon, as well as the re-release of “For Aeons Past” on vinyl, so as you can see, there’s still plenty of music to look forward to, if you like my/our stuff. 😇

Check Svavelvinter, it's got a neat blackened touch to it that's a bit different from the other stuff he's been in.

Svavelvinter is as good as modern melodeath gets, any Alvestam fans not already familiar need to get on that shit.
