New Seiko Oomori in 11 months 2023-10-15 by fluid in its most purist form. always drenched in an undeniable regal divinity. | 6 Comments | Japanese singer/songwriter/idol manager/alternative pop icon Seiko Oomori has announced a new record THIS IS JAPANESE GIRL, to be released September 18th 2024. This day will be a Wednesday, and there are 339 days between now and then. Please enjoy the wait.
More immediately, she has released a new single in support of the album, titled "更衣室ディストピア", which is Japanese for "Kouishitsu Dystopia", which is Japanese for "Dressing Room Dystopia". The song fuels a grotesque presentation of the title subject with Oomori's trademark juxtaposition between diminutive and nauseating cuteness. The title lyric is delivered as a pun on "Kouisitsu" (dressing room), "koi shits" (love shits, which might be domesticated in translation along the lines of romantic shitstain).
It is probably the least inviting lead single she has released to date, so uh good luck?
