Fall Out Boy is making crynyl

2023-05-03 by Sowing STAFF | 43 Comments
Think you know what it takes to be emo? Think again!

Pop-punk band Fall Out Boy, fresh off of their successful comeback LP So Much (For) Stardust, are manufacturing vinyl copies infused with their own tears, coined "Crynyl". That means for the insanely reasonable price of $99.99, you could be holding Patrick Strump's or Pete Wentz's tears.

Their first batch of Crynyl sold out quickly, but according to the band's Twitter page, they held back a few tears just for you. So, this is no sob story -- more copies are on the way!

They also released an accompanying video, of course:

While I personally wouldn't buy this, I can see why some mega-fans would for the sheer novelty of it. The markup is a bit much, agreed.

If you play the vinyl record backwards, it also includes hidden easter eggs of each band member ripping wet farts.

There probably aren’t enough real FOB tears in these to make them worth it. The clone’s gonna come out half-intern or dachshund

I do also wonder how many of these will just be sold second hand for like 5x as much. This is so close to the liquid music from Metalocalypse I kinda have to laugh about it.

This is like a joke that a non-fan might’ve made about emo/pop-punk bands back in the day, but now it’s actually happening lol

I thought crying was exclusively reserved for the tears rendered in the pain of having to listen to them.

This is pretty fun lmao. The promo video is well made. It's obviously a collectors item, and comes with a box of tissues. I'd prefer this than a crappy picture disk for sure.
