Gabestok stream new LP 2023-03-26 by Voivod STAFF | 4 Comments | Danish lofi blackened '70s garage/hard rock outfit Gabestok, is streaming a new album at the official Bandcamp location of compatriot label Strange Aeons Records.
Titled Med Freden Kommer Hadet (Danish for "With Peace Comes Hate"), the band's third long player was officially published on March 24.

This is quite groovy and melodic. I like it. They really need to stop doing clean vocals though. I have no problem with clean vocals when executed well. They're not executed well in this case.

Blackened garage rock tag instantly grabbed my attention. Checked out a couple tracks before I hits the sleep and this appears to be killer! Definitely gonna have to track down some more blackened garage rock stuff too. Never seen that used as a genre before but I bet the majority of it is sick.

Clean vocals, whose span is restrained on the album for better or for worse, brought in mind Doug Lee from Mekong Delta, and I love Lee's vocals in Mekong Delta.
