Moonsorrow is the best from his list for me but even they got boring pretty quick. Oranssi Pazuzu is more weird than good. Beherit... never understood how people like that band. It just isn't up my alley. I get that it's influential for its time or whatever but it sounds like boring garbage to me

Circle of Ouroborus is the best Finnish BM/BM-adjacent band, full stop. Havukruunu are also pretty good. Moonsorrow are okay.

In terms of best modern black metal "location" the US absolutely destroys every other country, w/Iceland and Bosnia & Herzegovina coming in second.

Cosmic Church, yet another fine Finnish black metal act.

Dutch black metal also has been going strong, last decade or so. Fluisteraars, Lubbert Das, Doodswens, Zwart, Solar Temple, Imperial Cult, Nusquama, Verval, Verwoed, Iskandr, Laster, Kwade Droes. The list goes on and on.

That was a dreadful track. The production is woeful, as are the tones and mixing. The main ‘clean’ guitar line, which sounds like it’s played on the neck pickup, is embarrassing.

Microcosm closed a lineage of great albums, and Drudkh have been going downhill ever since. But even at their worst, they always were decent enough. This song isn't bad at all.
