New Arab Strap tune 2022-01-13 by fluid in its most purist form. always drenched in an undeniable regal divinity. | 9 Comments | Standing strong off the back of 2021 Album of the Year As Days Get Dark, Arab Strap
have dropped a new song! Its name is “Aphelion" and it's an outtake from that album, to be released as a 7" single on March 4th with a B-side "Flutter", also from that album's sessions.
On this matter, frontman Aidan Moffat commented:
"These two songs were written, recorded and mixed during the sessions for As Days Get Dark but as much as we loved them, we couldn’t find a place for them on the final album [...] So, to celebrate the anniversary of the album's release, we present As Days Get Dark’s two runaway loners; a couple of black sheep who might not click with the rest of the family but, even though they aren't very happy, are still worth a cuddle."
Will this pairing make for the single of the year? It will be added to the Sputnikmusic database nearer to the time of release. Support local singles today.

Gosh how exciting
| | |
Isn’t his name Aidan not Adrian?

I always picture Johnny as having a megaphone somehow surgically implanted into his cranium. Thank you for alerting me to this exciting news

Accurate but unfortunately(?) it points into brain and not out my mouth so desperate compensatory measures are taken!!!
And fuck oops m'bad, always think his beard demands an extra syllable so I keep reverting to Adrian! Amended!

Probably the best track I've heard from this phase of the band.
