Haunted Shores rain Hellfire

Haunted Shores, the blackened djent brainchild of Mrak Holcomb and Misha Mansoor—also known for their Periphery side-project—has dropped the first single off the upcoming LP Void. Void will be Haunted Shores' first release since 2015's Viscera. Said Holcomb:

"Our idea to begin the record with forest ambience and a lo-fi band playing sloppily is a direct reference to Ulver's "Nattens Madrigal", which as legend has it, was recorded on a 4-track in the woods. Who knows if that's true or not? It's almost funnier if it was complete bullshit."

It's good, although not as instantly gripping as some of the stuff off Viscera.

Decent track, riffs are not quite as expressive as the stuff on Viscera, but it could just be this track.

Pretty sick track. Cover gives me strong Bloodborne vibes.

Wonder if good buddy Elliot will still be featured in Immaterial.

Oh shit good eye. I didn't realise they were re-recording Immaterial for this. I can't imagine Elliot not doing the vocals, although I haven't heard him do very many things with harsh vocals lately so who knows?

Also, there's gonna be a tune called Only Fangs and I wonder if it references Only Smiles.

Blackened djent is such an untapped genre that only Haunted Shores has pursued. It only makes them standout all the more for being the only one to do it.

During a FB stream not too long ago, Elliot mentioned he was working on his harsh vox with a vocal coach. Maybe it was for this? Fingers crossed!
