Geese Announce Debut Album 2021-09-30 by robertsona EMERITUS | 34 Comments | Alright, so there's this really hyped Brooklyn band of 18- and 19-year-olds named Geese who have released three songs' worth of brooding but kinda danceable post-punk, and I'm here to tell you that you should believe the hype. This is not fun to do at times: this band has released THREE songs, and started playing shows like a year ago, and they're somehow signed to Partisan Records (IDLES, Fontaines D.C.), and they're somehow ending a 2022 world tour at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC, which is a big fancy venue which is stupid for a band that has three songs (like two months ago, they only had one song). Call 'em plants. Go ahead. Make a pun out of it, even: "indie-stry plants"! I see you. But you gotta believe in the Zoomers: the three songs are all really good (the best one is the longest, called "Disco"), and the three or four extant videos of them on YouTube (the most vertical of which is shared below) make them look like consummate pros in a manner reminiscent of Gustaf and Palberta and some other Brooklyn bands I think are good. But this is about Geese, and Geese's debut album comes out everywhere October 29. It's called Projector. I swear I don't know anyone in this band but they're playing Woodstock, New York (that's right baby) this Friday and I really hope my Dad will drive me.
