Caspian parts with guitarist

2021-09-14 by Toondude | 14 Comments
American post-rock group Caspian have officially parted ways with guitarist Erin Burke-Moran. Moran had been with the group since their first album, The Four Trees in 2007. Moran made a statement on his departure on social media:

“Friends,
I’ve made the difficult decision to leave my position as a Guitarist in Caspian.

It’s been the greatest ride. I’ve met the most wonderful people. I’ve gotten to play music all over the world with my best friends. It’s been a dream come true.

But, I’ve been blessed with a little girl and she just needs a dad right now. I’m going to help her really cherish her childhood and take her and her mom on some epic adventures.

Love to everyone who has been there with me and this band through the years. It’s been, and always will be, a highlight of my life.
Caspian forever.”

The band's primary guitarist and founding member, Calvin Johnson, will filling Erin's duties in the meantime as the band prepare for their upcoming shows in North America

Classy statement. One of my favorite still going post-rock bands

the fact that it's surprising that band members are leaving without some sort of drama happening speaks volumes

still sad to see him go, wishing the best for him

Tbh I've always found it questionable when actively touring musicians get children and just keep going like nothing. So respect for this decision

Caspian seem like a group of world class dudes. Glad their music kicks ass too.
