How do some of these news articles about unknown bands get approved? Are they just bands the staff wants to plug?

Is there a popularity threshold for bands to be in news articles? Like seriously if that's some kind of rule I'll stop posting about these niche punk bands I like lol. I figured if it's legit news (i.e. the topic is actually recent and the article informs about said topic), then shouldn't it be allowed? After all doesn't the news just represent what Sput users are interested in? And I'm on Sputnik and interested in this band, so...?

Anyways I really enjoy this song, this band does the J-punk sound so well, vocalist is unique, and the drummer is so tight and creative. Very excited for the album.

This actually makes me want to kill something.
