Heartwrenching stuff. Wolf's got real talent too.
| |
rips your guts out, the guy lost one of the most important people in his life. the song is really good and I was surprised. Wolfgang has got some pipes.
| |
I thought this was one of those crossover parody bands like Bullet For My Bloody Valentine for a second lol
| |
Ha! I can see that actually. Fun fact: Eddie Van Halen's middle name was Lodewijk, which is the Dutch form of Ludwig, because he was (partially) named after Ludwig Van Beethoven.
| |
"Wolfgang has got some pipes."
Yeah, as much flak as he gets, and as irreplaceable as Michael Anthony's backing vocals in VH were, Wolf definitely was/is no slouch in the vocals department.
| |
Surprised by how much I loved this. Stoked to see what Wolf does from here.
| |
as someone who also lost his dad during covid, my heart goes out to this guy. respect
| |
Damn, I'm sorry for your loss. :[
| |
thanks dude! it blows, but i think this year has really given everyone a reality check. he was a heavy smoker so i think he was like a 'at risk' group, and EVH had cancer, so i imagine covid couldve worsened either of our dads situations
| |
also, its incredibly obvious how much of a loving dad EVH was. mine was too. if you got a good dad, people, give him a call
| |
aw fuck man
lost my dad two years ago
this hits
| |
Other than a couple of unconfirmed reports from TMZ, there was never any confirmation about Eddie Van Halen’s condition during the last few years of his life. Wolfgang offered the first actual details, telling Stern, “At the end of 2017, [Eddie] was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. And the doctors were like, ‘You have six weeks.’”
| |
Man, right in the feels. RIP EVH.
| |
nice tribute
awful song
| |
Excellent song. Very touching tribute.
| |
pour one out for the great dads. may we all be as good as they were someday.
| |
Won't lie, this hit me right in the feels. It's also really refreshing when I see cases of rock stars that are also good parents.
| |
^ for sure
| |
I'm long past my days of regularly jamming Alter Bridge and other hard rock bands, but this pleasantly surprised me.
| |
Oh okay just rip my heart out thanks. I am so eternally jealous of people who have such vast recorded memories of their lost loved ones, all that video footage and recorded music. My pops died right before social media took over and I don't have any recordings of his voice or video of him and I'd kill to have that, it would mean so much. Photos and memories will have to suffice. I'm not a big fan of this type of commercial rock sound but this one hit me in the feels too man. Rock on Wolfgang.
| |
^ feel that man. i have 2 voicemails about 4 seconds long from my dad before he passed away. i cherish them. one of them he says he loves me, and another is him leaving a comically disjointed voicemail as I call back
| |
Right in the feels. I'm not crying, you are
| |
Fuck, this thread is bringing the feels...
| |
I had to look away in order to not cry
click on the profiles of kids shitting on it for a hearty laugh
| |
Lol sorry everybody. JUST LOVE YA FAMILY AND ROCK SOME ERUPTION FOR OLE EDDIE LUDJEVICK AIGHT
| |
Van Halen always reminded me of my father since it is his favourite band. when Eddie died it was kind of a kick in the nuts. Nothing lasts forever. "JUST LOVE YA FAMILY AND ROCK SOME ERUPTION FOR OLE EDDIE"
| |
Heart warming stuff, man. Really dig this song.
| |
my dad was all about classic rock too man. i have boxes of his old records to listen to
| |
Eddie is lucky he didn't have to hear this tbh
| |
Except that he did and he apparently liked it so...
| |
the 'its cool to be insensitive crowd' starting to show up, nice
| |
^ welcome to the internet, friend. its a giant posturing game
