This album is turning out to be much better than A New Kind of Horror. I'm surprised how much the title track is stuck in my head despite being underwhelmed at first.

The singles have been really promising. And the lyrics are fucking good, too. I always thought it was a bit of a shame they didn’t publish any of their lyrics, since the song titles always had me super curious and suggested they had a bit of a way with words with their various literary references and such.

Flug had an interesting comment on the last single they dropped: this is basically Anaal Nathrakh power metal.
This sound like more of that, and it's such a great sound. Reminds me of Amon Amarth from 10 years ago, but way more operatic and industrial.

Vanitas rules, but it's nowhere near their last one. Their last awesome one is desideratum, came out in 2014. Everything after was just generic extreme metal.
