That chorus in "Strings of Separation" is gorgeous. Still one of the most consistent bands around.

Strings of Separation is very good, Purer Form of Pain is solid but nothing special really

nice music

Strings of Separation brings those melodic goods. From Prophets to now, the boys have yet to disappoint.

Damn I better get on that.

I was hooked on Nothing Left to Love for at least 3 months. It's flawless to my ears.
I burned myself out on it so I'm waiting a few months before I dive into the rest of the discog. What should I listen to next?

Don't. Listen to the bands they're basically ripping off: Shai Hulud, Misery Signals, and Poison the Well. All 3 do this style of metalcore (and I use metalcore loosely. Looking at you, Shai Hulud) so much better.

I've actually given You're Not You Anymore a couple times. I dig it. I'll check out your other rec, thanks.

I'd start at Prophets and listen in chronological order to NLTL. You'll see how they've evolved over time to their current state

Just cause someone did the sound first doesn’t make it better imho. I find so much of PtW and SH sounds dated but I’m sure I’m in the minority

Yeah I suppose going back to the very start is best.

i mean if Counterparts wanted to sound like SH or PTW they could, but to fault those bands for not being able to sound more modern is pretty ridiculous, even more-so for PTW

I’m not faulting the bands. Just saying counterparts is better. Kinda like an iPhone is better than a blackberry. I don’t fault blackberry. Just making an observation lol

Edit: Never allowed to point that finger...

"Counterparts > Mis Sigs > PtW > Shai Hulud"
Idk bout them being better than Mis Sigs but they are definitely way more enjoyable than PtW and Hulud

Counterparts have an argument over MS if your'e talking consistency and longevity, but in terms of artistic peak MS win in a landslide.

I'd say they're neck and neck. Love both bands to death tho.

I will back this band until the day I die, but Mis Sigs are the fathers of this style of melodic metalcore.

also i’d say mis signals have produced less quality overall than cp but the former’s peak is higher

Counterparts openly admit that they're basically just ripping off misery signals from the beginning so it's a stretch saying cp are better than ms imho. Both bands are consistently awesome though, same goes to hulud and ptw

I would def take Misery Signals over Counterparts lol, but PtW and SH are dope too and all of these bands rule

Maybe I need to listen to this band more but that sings of separation song has a strong Shai hulud vibe or more than I've ever noticed this band do.

Botch is cool but imo it ain't better than Counterparts. I seriously think Counterparts is the best hardcore band in recent years.

So you can state your opinion but I can't? Now who sounds like a 5 year old?

"intothepit you sound like such a keyboard warrior"

Nah, just someone who thinks this band is painfully average.

No you said "when people like yourself continue to post really dumb shit". I've said nothing but opinions, I haven't said anything about you. Hence my statement. You can say whatever you want.

But based on your reading comprehension skills I should probably just spend my time doing something else
