Dame Vera Lynn dead at 103 2020-06-18 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 5 Comments | English wartime pop star Dame Vera Lynn, known across the allied nations for her singles during World War Two (including "We'll Meet Again" and "The White Cliffs of Dover") and successful post-war career, has passed away today at the age of 103.
Lynn most recently charted in the UK in April and May, with both the original version of "We'll Meet Again" as well as a duetted version with Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins released to raise money for the NHS. Her continued success in the country made her the oldest living person to achieve a UK number one until Captain Tom Moore earlier this year.
As a result of her cultural influence, tributes ranging from entertainers, politicians and the British Royal Family have been paid to her. No details have been released regarding her cause of death.
