Dirt Emo king Ruston Kelly has announced that "Shape and Destroy" will be released on August 28th via Rounder Records. This will be his first full-length release since 2018's "Dying Star", although he did release a covers album, "Dirt Emo Vol. 1", in 2019. The album announcement was paired with the release of a new song titled "Rubber". A previous single, "Brave", had been released earlier 2020.

Brave has been in the running for my SOTY, so simple but beautiful. Rubber is right up there with it - If he can boil down some of the fat that was on his previous album, this will easily be an AOTY contender
He calls himself dirt emo cause he basically makes sad country music lol. I just really like the name, I think it's actually probably a branch of the genre that existed and didn't have a name
Yeah I might get one up here soon. I don't think I have the same feelings as you do (runs slightly too long for me), but man it has a few of my favorite songs from the past few years
