New Tricot LP

2019-12-26 by fluid in its most purist form. always drenched in an undeniable regal divinity. | 14 Comments
The math rock four-piece Tricot have announced their new album Makkuro (Pitch Black), scheduled for release January 29th.

Masshiro will mark a departure from their previous three albums, T H E , A N D and 3, all of which were released by the band's own label Bakuretsu Records; Masshiro will be instead released on Cutting Edge, a sub-label of Avex Trax, marking their major label debut.

The band have released a short music video for the title track, which is notable primarily for its brevity, its convenience as an announcement platform, and the glam-yeti hybrid of singer/guitarist Ikkyu's wardrobe. This track will likely serve as an interlude before the album closer "Makkuro" (Pitch Black), and the album will also include the previously released single "Afureru" (Overflowing).

I do prefer Sigure by a mile but they're a very different kettle of fish and Tricot's career today is more interesting imo

I always like what I hear from this band, but never get fully into them where I'm listening over and over again.

I like when they do the twinkly things. But without lyrics.

"the poor man's ling tosite sigure"

I prefer Ling Tosite Sigure too, but I hardly see the comparison other than they're both Japanese and technical in some way.
