New Cattle Decapitation Track 2019-09-05 by Fernando Alves | 20 Comments | Deathgrind masters Cattle Decapitation are currently streaming the new track "One Day Closer to the End of the World" taken from their upcoming album Death Atlas, which will be released on November 29th, via Metal Blade Records. New release was produced by Dave Otero.
Stream "One Day Closer to the End of the World" here:
Metal Blade states: "Cattle Decapitation have never shied away from confronting the awfulness wrought upon the natural world by the human race, and Death Atlas, is their bleakest offering to date. The cover art says it all, a stooped, skeletal Grim Reaper carrying the burnt-out husk of our planet on his back". Vocalist Travis Ryan adds: "That's kind of why this album cover takes place in space, to remind you that 'the universe always finds a way to purge'. In the grand scheme of things, our species is merely a fleeting thought. I want people to be shocked into thinking more about their futures, their loved ones, the pain they're potentially subjecting their future generations to. Everyone just seems to live in the now with no care for tomorrow and that's incorrect thinking as far as today goes. Don't make tomorrow a cancelled check".
Death Atlas tracklist:
01. "Anthropogenic: End Transmission"
02. "The Genocide"
03. "Be Still Our Bleeding Hearts"
04. "Vulturous"
05. "The Great Dying"

Pretty solid. The band's message is more pressing than ever.
| | | Brutal description of the album's message. I love it.
AOTY incoming motherfuckers.
| | | November 29th is so far away... but this is the best news.
| | | Lol these clowns need to lighten up
| | | You suck
| | | It's weird to hear the bass so prominently on a modern metal album like this, nice change of pace.
| | | They’re really leaning in to that sound. Paint by numbers.
| | | Travis is still insane vocally.
Liking the more ‘clean’ direction of this track, certainly relies on Travis’ weird hooky goblin-esque vocals and I’m completely fine with that.
| | | Most definitely. He's easily one of the best and most distinctive extreme metal vocalists. The production is bolder than previous albums, good stuff.
| | | When it comes to deathgrind, I like my song titles to mention entrails and fetuses.
| | | These guys are far from a deathgrind band anymore.
@Pleb Agreed man. That melodic passage was a brave move for Travis and he pulled it off so well.
| | | So damn good
| | | He's been doing that singing for like 2 albums now
| | | promising
| | | Pretty boring

Rules
| | | Travis's rabid gobin vocals are catchier than ever. They're definitely leaning in a more melodic direction but I'm here for it.
| | | Travis is definitely the man, great vocals
| | | both new tracks completely destroy
| | | Only heard the latest song, but this new album could be a top metal contender
