Second We Lost the Sea Single 2019-08-16 by Mitch Worden EMERITUS | 9 Comments | Australian post-rock collective We Lost the Sea presented a second single from their upcoming 2019 record, Triumph & Disaster, which is scheduled for an October 1 debut. Titled "A Beautiful Collapse," the new track was premiered in the form of a new video that utilizes quotations and archival footage as backdrop to the song's narrative.
We Lost the Sea state: "The use of archival footage to tell a story was a way of referencing our common past to talk about what we have or are leaving behind. Other people's stories stitched together to create a collective narrative about our history and possible future. Also it's free to use, so that helps!
"The idea behind using quotes from writers and thinkers, most of whom are dead, ties back into that human story. It's like little flashes of truths told by great minds that we should learn from. Things that have already been said that already predict or sum up so many relevant and current elements. A collective story of us that runs along with the song that tells of a foreshadowing, a collapse. How beautiful the things we make that we leave behind."

Another strong offering, especially towards the climax. Not having the same emotional connection to this yet, but obviously the full context is not in place yet, and Departure Songs is a hard effort to make a follow-up to.

If they even rival Departure Songs ill be one happy panda

Nice.

sweet!

will judge this separately from Departure Songs, considering that album's incredible emotional weight. I'm sure this will be fantastic in a different way.

The concept behind it is receiving a lot of love so their dedication is evident.
