New Jersey blackened deathcore band Lorna Shore have released their first new single with vocalist CJ McCreery titled "This Is Hell". McCreery joined the band earlier this year after former vocalist Tom Barber left the group to join Chelsea Grin.

Damn, not bad. Breakdown towards the end is earth shattering. Melodically a little more catchy than usual, kinda feels like old MTS on steroids.

I didn’t say it was better than old MTS. It’s just a lot more hyperactive. The song structure is very loose and the riffing is just as if not faster. Whether you consider that a positive or not is up to your discretion.

Boring, and I like their new vocalist even less than their last one.

Slightly interesting, but all I hear is potential. A song like this is tiring. An album of this would be exhausting.

yeah they're trying too hard to be extreme here. everything from the mix to the constant layered vocals feels overblown.

There must be 5 vocal tracks going on at any given time. Dig how heavy it sounds but not as much as the previous two albums. Vocalist is indeed a tank

"There must be 5 vocal tracks going on at any given time."

This is what kills the track for me tbh. This and the uncanny resemblance to Fvneral Moon, particularly in the solo. Meh.

Could chill on the layering a little, yeah. Ive said this in another thread here, i dont think this band is the greatest fit for CJ. SOTS was a better fit for him, he needs super heavy slammy music. Still sounds pretty great here though. Glad i dont have to deal with Barber's shitty highs anymore.
