If it's being released on 7", then it most likely is just a standalone single.

Not bad
Mix is tight, there's some interesting vocal phrasing in first verse and it was good to hear a bit more range in Marcus's screams
| |
Goddamn has Marcus gotten better as a vocalist
| |
That was better than most of Mesmer at least, Marcus still not vibin with me tho
| |
It's a banger
| |
Gonna assume this is as bad as new Erra and skip it
| |
New Erra was good tho
| |
Man where was this intensity when they were making their last few albums? That was good. I mean I'm not gonna play it over and over but it was still solid.
| |
Haven't heard the new Erra yet tbh, the album art just pisses me off
| |
You're buggin the album art looks great Blocboi.
| |
Yea I like the album art, and the song bangs
| |
I'm digging this song. A lot.
| |
Better than anything on Node or Mesmer. I hope we get a whole album with this sound.
| |
Fucking slays
| |
Much better than anything off their most recent albums with Marcus
| |
Will they ever stop doing this super boring low end riffing and go back to writing interesting songs like on discoveries? Marcus sounds a lot bettet in this tho
| |
The best thing they have put out in a while.
Marcus sounds fantastic here, guitars and drums have brought the energy back they have been missing.
Like those junz at 2:20ish
| |
I think it's the tone they have been using since Marcus came in, they have been doing a Tesseract and backing off on the distortion a bit.
Genesis is still heavy as balls but if they played it with their current tone it would sound weak as shit
| |
Yeah that was pretty sick tbf.
| |
Great vocals but the instrumentals still feel boring and lifeless
| |
Nowhere near as good as the new Erra
| |
"Genesis is still heavy as balls but if they played it with their current tone it would sound weak as shit"
Yea I haven't liked the less distorted tone they've been using since Marcus joined, it has no power to it
| |
Nice song.
Will be honest though, Mesmer was my favourite Northlane record. Hope they still bring the melodies on the next record.
| |
Hell yeah. This song slays. I know a lot of people are love it or hate it with Northlane post-Marcus, but to be honest I love both in different ways. They are definitely a different band now. Marcus's vocal range seems like it's really expanding. It's awesome to see.
| |
Better than anything off Mesmer or Node.
| |
Adrian's lows were brutal for early Northlane, while Marcus' lows are still weak as shit. He's getting better, but I think that's holding the band back. They've put out some good stuff post-Adrian, but Discoveries is still there best work.
| |
not huge on marcus' voice and def not post-adrian lyrics
| |
this is better tho
| |
yawn.
| |
Yeah the guitar work is really boring
| |
You're buggin the album art looks great Blocboi. x2
| |
It's nice to see Marcus utilising a larger range of harsh vocals here but instrumentally this isnt doing it for me at all. They've really stagnated since singularity and refuse to move out of their comfort zone.
| |
Wow this fuckin slaps. This is gonna make a killer gym track. I like it more than the new Erra track.
| |
where's the riffs
song is zzz
| |
They are about the junz not the riffs
| |
that's lame
| |
nah
| |
They used to have some dope riffs
| |
[2] exactly
| |
This is the best song I've ever heard from them haha
| |
no!
| |
The first 20 seconds of dark ambient stuff was pretty cool. As soon as the band came in it bored me
| |
So yeh... more of just that dark texture shit plz northlane. A whole album of it done well would be nice.
| |
Best new era Northlane song, except for maybe Intuition.
| |
bigweinerdon
| |
AT MUH SPHERE
| |
decent.
| |
This already grew off me
| |
God Marcus is so generic, he sounds like the ex dude from Issues, and that guy SUCKED... Adrian WAS Northlane...
| |
Never cared for these guys but this fucking rips. The ambient electronic stuff in the beginning was pretty sweet, could go for more of that.
| |
Yep, song still slaps. Also never cared for these guys before this.
| |
smh
| |
Yay people who don't hate new Northlane on principal what a sight
| |
It's like you think there's no reason why people dislike Marcus and new Northlane
| |
I mean the averages (at least on this site) are 0.2 apart so I don't think the gap in quality is as huge as some people like to make it out to be.
| |
I like all of Northlane's stuff so sue me
| |
I'm not talking about averages or anything like that. What you said made it sound like people who don't like new Northlane have bad reasons for it, which isn't the case at all. The guitar tone lost all the punch it had, Marcus is a boring vocalist with weak screams and is not nearly as passionate as the vocalist before him, they traded riffs and fun bouncy guitars for atmospheric bullshit, and the drums are held back so much more. I've said it a thousand times
| |
Those are all legitimate reasons, and I'd agree that Adrian was more passionate and the music felt more personal and certainly more emotional back in his day. But I'd also argue that the guitar and kick drum especially were WAY too forward in the mix on the first two records and the Marcus-era ones are far more balanced and detailed. Idk I guess my ears just REALLY like the tone they've gone for (on all instruments) since Marcus joined.
