Mike Shinoda shares new EP 2018-01-25 by Nat S. | 15 Comments | Mike Shinoda, of Linkin Park and Fort Minor fame, has released a new EP, entitled Post Traumatic.
The EP features three songs written by Shinoda after the death of his bandmate, Chester Bennington, in July last year. About the project, Shinoda had this to say:
"The past six months have been a rollercoaster. Amidst the chaos, I've started to feel an intense gratitude - for your tributes and messages of support, for the career you have allowed me to have, and for the simple opportunity to create.
Today, I'm sharing three songs I wrote and produced, with visuals I filmed, painted and edited myself. At its core, grief is a personal, intimate experience. As such, this is not Linkin Park nor Fort Minor. It's just me.
Art has always been the place I go when I need to sort through the complexity and confusion of the road ahead. I don't know where this path goes, but I'm grateful I get to share it with you."

Damn. This is a little off what I'd enjoy in a purely musical sense, but ugh the context absolutely guts me.

Fort Minor is for me a 4/5. Unfortunately, this sounds nothing like FM. Fort Minor is much more intricate in production and instrumentation than either this or most of LP
