They used to perform for and still throw free concerts for veterans if I remember correctly. These dudes have always been super supportive of the military.

Exactly, if you think the band is shitty, that's totally fine, but they've proven for a decade that they're heavily dedicated to the military and the struggles of soldiers on and off duty, that shouldn't make anyone feel uncomfortable.

As soon as they start singing about how our country lacks the research and funding to support veterans properly or the systematic issues that lead to large proportions of them being homeless or being resistant to seeking medical attention because of learned forms of tough-guy masculinity ill start listening. Until then, they can keep singing lyrical gems like "did you hear the one about me being a cuck?" for all I care.

It goes without saying that it doesn't even compare to the original, but I've weirdly liked the Disturbed "Sound of Silence" cover ever since I rode the bus one night and the driver was playing it and singing along at the top of his lungs.
