Jeez Snide cool it with the articles for terrible bands pls.
|
| |
fuck this shitty band for a shitty cover of a great song
|
| |
ugh why
|
| |
I can't help but feel that this band's constant inclusion of "the soldiers" and "the troops" in their music and videos is emotionally exploitative, they seemed to have built their career around it and it makes me a bit uncomfortable.
|
| |
They used to perform for and still throw free concerts for veterans if I remember correctly. These dudes have always been super supportive of the military.
|
| |
"I can't help but feel that this band's constant inclusion of "the soldiers" and "the troops" in their music and videos is emotionally exploitative, they seemed to have built their career around it and it makes me a bit uncomfortable."
I like it.
|
| |
Oh god. Their covers are always so awful. I'm afraid to sit through this.
|
| |

ikr who cares about those meat head murderers
|
| |
This band's gone out of their way to support the military not only in their music, but also with monetary donations, free admission to concerts for all active members and veterans, free benefit shows for active members and veterans, and near constant awareness campaigns for homeless veterans, veterans suffering from PTSD, suicide rates among veterans, and many other important issues plaguing the US military and its troops. I don't understand how that would make a person uncomfortable.
|
| |
arent they like the official band of the US Army or something? used to be disturbed
|
| |
Well that was shit
|
| |
Shitty band does a shitty cover.
This is 2k17 after all.
|
| |
And I just cannottttttt with that thumbnail, hahaha
|
| |
Education
Stable career
Join the army
Become a murderer
|
| |
why are you people surprised that the big ugly manchild notorious for spewing anti-islam fervor on stage is in favor of protecting the lives of beefcake rednecks shooting innocent iraqi children in the face
|
| |
solo is cool.
|
| |
Gotta build your music career off of monster energy drink fumes and stolen valor.

Because muh cognitive dissonance
Band sucks but being uncomfortable because they support the military and basically got famous for doing so is stupid. PTSD and high suicide rates among veterans is a real issue and deserves attention, regardless of if their cover is shitty.

Exactly, if you think the band is shitty, that's totally fine, but they've proven for a decade that they're heavily dedicated to the military and the struggles of soldiers on and off duty, that shouldn't make anyone feel uncomfortable.
|
| |
Yeah hate on the band not the cause they support
|
| |
I can't help but feel that this band's constant inclusion of "the soldiers" and "the troops" in their music and videos is emotionally exploitative, they seemed to have built their career around it and it makes me a bit uncomfortable.
They know their fans are dumbasses. Dumbasses join the military. It's a no-brainer.
|
| |
lol this band
|
| |
Being a band that supports the military doesn’t make you a good band especially when isn’t their singer a woman beater or something
Edit: nvm disregard my comment someguest got it covered
|
| |
Why would anyone want to go to a free FFDP show anyways
|
| |
to get some of that wheelchair-bound veteran pussy obviously
|
| |
I'm not saying it makes them a good band, this band literally has one great album and the rest of their discography is aggressively mediocre to bad. I'm saying that there's nothing wrong with this band's outspoken support of the military.
|
| |
Not gonna pretend I'm a expert on the band, but literally all of their shit that Ive heard sounds the same, aside from Bad Company which isn't even their song.
|
| |
Their second is good, debut is alright, rest is pretty ass
|
| |
"I'm saying that there's nothing wrong with this band's outspoken support of the military."
there's a lot wrong with supporting the military industrial complex and government-sanctioned atrocities but w/e. And surprise surprise song is boring trash, too.
|
| |
Nah, their "support" does shit-all for veterans' issues. As soon as they start singing about how our country lacks the research and funding to support veterans properly or the systematic issues that lead to large proportions of them being homeless or being resistant to seeking medical attention because of learned forms of tough-guy masculinity ill start listening. Until then, they can keep singing lyrical gems like "did you hear the one about me being a cuck?" for all I care.
|
| |
yea it's just performative because it gets them all those patriotism bucks
|
| |
lotta ignorants itt
|
| |
mhmm, most of the people who claim to 'support veterans' are those advocating more war and sending off more people to come back with severe psychological trauma, homelessness and mental illness - if they want to support veterans they should be doing something useful rather than blind support of the military
|
| |
I think this is worst band around men
|
| |
god i love the offspring
|
| |
Enter immigrants to your country, and wait for what could possible happen (look Sweden, oh wait no Sweden anymore). Fucking ignoranccy leftists.
|
| |
Yikes

fucking ignoranccy

“why are you people surprised that the big ugly manchild notorious for spewing anti-islam fervor on stage is in favor of protecting the lives of beefcake rednecks shooting innocent iraqi children in the face”
Not cool bro
|
| |
Ugh, this was a terrible idea. They ruined a great song.
|
| |
When did this band go from MySpace "hardcore", to "ARMY STRONG BRO"?
|
| |
I bet these guys still play the America's Army game.
|
| |
ahhh the military support makes sense now, used to work at Ft. Meade and was always curious why half the enlisted guys coming into my shop would be wearing Five Finger Death Punch t-shirts (or Avenged Sevenfold).
and hey I used to play the fuck out of America's Army back in like...2009-2010. That was a legit fun as hell game.
|
| |
This bands huge hard on for the military is really gay.
|
| |
i bet this band tailgates the shit out of you in the slow lane, doesn't use their blinkers, and then deathstares you as they pass you in their compensating lifted truck bc you're not going 195mph in a 55mph.
|
| |
when you've got your herpes covered with aids..
|
| |
and they drive jeeps and have Monster energy drink stickers on their back windows
|
| |
The song's not even that bad, it's just mediocre, they're supporting the troops, so I don't see anything wrong with it
|
| |
"i bet this band tailgates the shit out of you in the slow lane, doesn't use their blinkers, and then deathstares you as they pass you in their compensating lifted truck bc you're not going 195mph in a 55mph."
they also think they believe in freedom but threaten to beat up anyone who burns a flag.
|
| |
i fought for your right to do that thing youre doing that i dont like and am now using threats of physical force to prevent you from doing that thing i just said i fought for you to be able to do!
|
| |
this is probably the only band I really hate
|
| |
Supporting the US military, aka the thing that the vast majority of people in the world hate, the thing that’s devastated entire societies that pose zero threat to the US, the thing that the most gullible and hateful people in the US love. Sounds great.
Btw, linked to its support of the military is this band’s really in your face misogyny, which you see (hear) on their live album. It sounds like they’re trying to encourage domestic violence at points, it’s really gross.
|
| |
"The video is a tribute to soldiers, the plights they suffer both on duty, and at home from PTSD"
FUCKING IMAGINE THAT
|
| |
this band is the poster child for shameless pandering to an audience, in this case the armed forces.
|
| |
I can already hear exactly how this is going to sound in my head without actually playing it.
|
| |
Five Finger Death Punch creates PTSD. After hearing the band your life becomes two parts: before and after hearing the band. Once you hear it, you're just a line on the fucking concrete.
DRAWN ONLY TO BE WASHED AWAY
|
| |
Tapout should sponsor this band
|
| |
Soldiers are straight up retarded fanatics, honestly. Never met one with two brain cells to rub together.

the only ex military dude I know who's around my age owns a literal arsenal and smokes weed for a living

THIS THIS THIS THIS^^^
|
| |
Disappointing, but not at all surprising.
|
| |
this band has manipulating its audience down to a science
|
| |
Da troops! :'(

I had to do it
I was told to
It's okay
It's justified
I'm protecting my country
Someone had to so it
I had no choice
They had it coming
|
| |
I'd like to think the guy in the thumbnail is so distraught because he's in a FFDP video
|
| |
"hello kind sir, not only do you have crippling PTSD but you're now going to have to be in a FFDP video"
|
| |
I'm all for raising awareness about the issues soldiers and veterans face but if the bottom line is "the military is great, you should always support the military no matter what", you clearly care less about actually solving problems than you do about jerking yourself off over what a great American you are.
|
| |
Kompy gets it

probably cos this band also heavily supports and partakes in islamophobia
|
| |
what is up with all these rock bands doing terrible covers?
If you can't make good music on your own you shouldn't be allowed to ruin other peoples' music as well.
Offspring should sue.
|
| |
disturbed made mad $$$$ on their terrible cover of Sound of Silence, so there's some method to this actual madness.
|
| |
It goes without saying that it doesn't even compare to the original, but I've weirdly liked the Disturbed "Sound of Silence" cover ever since I rode the bus one night and the driver was playing it and singing along at the top of his lungs. Normally shit like that just pisses me off but it was oddly heartwarming.
|
| |

|

Religion is retarded though, yeah [2]
Spirituality is cool though, should mention that since not a lot of people seem to differentiate between the two.
|
| |
Yeah, religion is dumb but Islamophobia has some kinda racist-y undertones that I don't really dig.
Spirituality is cool though [2]
