Amazing track. Sounds like the mid 80s.

Best band to be honest tbh tbh

Bejar may yet snatch aoty....'Kaputt' is my second favourite album of all time after all

I just love the tone on this track.

It's the exact same tone as on 'Kaputt' though (which is obviously amazing as I stated above...) - but any reaction that this is in any way a new direction is crazy.

Nice Blue Nile reference

Decent tune. Will probably give the album a try.

That shoegaze comp will have pushed up your tolerance for this sort of fluff no end.

Destroyer are an essential. The new Ariel Pink is really excellent too, though he might be too much of a kook for you to want to take in a whole album.

Seems like it might be a bit too slick and 80s sounding for me and I don't love the guy's voice so idk I feel I could go either way on this.

Still need to check Blue Nile too.

I've heard of Ariel Pink, never been much inclined to try him though.

Bejar's vocals/lyrics will either grow on you to the point of obsession...or you don't really need Destroyer in your life. He's that type of cat.

Blue Nile are genuinely 80s as all hell, I think if you surrender to all that you'll like them a lot.

Ariel Pink is probably guilty of being as contrived and frivolous as people suggest...but his stuff is just plain enjoyable in quite a childish way for me. I don't overthink his albums.

I'll try to give Poison Season a go before Destroyer's new one drops.

Just go for 'Kaputt' because it sounds like the new one will be really similar...and that's his best album.

You might prefer the more indie rock/glam rock Bowie-esque sound of 'Streethawk' though

Oh yeah Kaputt is the one I meant to say, I know that's your #2 album so I should definitely hear it regardless.

It took 6 months to grow on me so bear that in mind...
