Protest The Studio

2007-07-12 by Tyler EMERITUS | 12 Comments
The Torontoish five-some have been updating their website-turned-blog regularly, but for those who don’t speak the same language as the band (jargon filled drunken Canadian), allow me to summarize their current status:

The as-of-yet untitled disc is well on its way to completion, and though no release date has been set, the group is optimistic about getting it out this fall. In recent videos posted by Rody, the sound on the new album is set to be “heavier, techier”, though he hopes fans won’t find it too poppy. Weird.

Continuing updates can be found at ProtestTheHero.com

This ought to be awesome. But "techier?" Kezia was pure technicality, can't see it going much further than that.

We are playing the Toronto and Montreal dates of WARPED TOUR this year! Come out and judge us after we've been in a studio for two months. Think about it, it's going to be uncomfortably hot, it's probably going to rain, you're most likely going to get hurt in some moshpit, your parents don't want you to go, the ticket price is astronomical, bands only get a half hour set, and the food is grotesque at best....trust me, you NEED to be at this one

I should work this in.
But "techier?" Kezia was pure technicality, can't see it going much further than that.

Other than some of the bass, Kezia isn't all that technical. It sounds like it is but that's got more to do with how it's written rather than how it's played. This Message Edited On 07.12.07

I don't remember the bass being techie on Kezia.

But the guitar and drum work seemed to fit pretty nicely, so i look forward any improvements on the upcoming.

I didn't understand all the hype for Kezia. I didn't like it that much.
