New Foster the People EP

2017-04-28 by literallyzach | 25 Comments
Foster the People have released a new EP, III, ahead of a currently untitled studio album tentatively set for this summer and a world tour beginning next month. Fittingly, III's tracklist is made up of three new songs: "Pay the Man," "Doing It for the Money" and "S.H.C." Listen to "Pay the Man" here:

Pretty boring...OK overall musically, I guess, whatever. These guys seem to be getting worse with every release. Torches was awesome.

I wonder what goes through an artists mind to think its creatively sound to make an album whose name is just the number of album it is. feel like ive been seeing that all over the god damn place lately

@nolerthebowler

I *think* it's named 3 because there's 3 songs. Because if you count the EP its their fourth piece of work, yeah? Unless they don't know how to count

I still think their debut was an excellent pop album... anything else after that not so much

They did rip off their album cover but its not like Every Time i Die has a lot to be proud of with that album cover in the first place

This is just as abysmal as everything else they've done

Jeez you guys are brutal.

First of all, the Low Teens cover is about as generic as it gets...looks like a cliché inspirational quote Instagram post. All you need to "rip it off" is a similar font in a similar color...not hard to do unintentionally.

Second, this is really really good. It's creatively satisfying pop music, an increasingly endangered species. Also reminds me that they were basically carving out the space in mainstream music that Twenty One Pilots now occupies before anyone ever heard of TOP.

I wonder if their drummer knows he's not in the band anymore

This is actually pretty great. Reminds me of something Dan Black would do (whatever happened to him?)
