We have big plans for macman. In fact there's a long-term reason why we onboarded so many this time (besides a swollen talent pool), as we'd like to start diversifying staff roles in the near future. It's currently constricted by site limitations, but the vision is to employ news staff, blog staff, various niche writers, etc. At this point it's still in draft mode.

I think that all sounds like a great idea, although maybe I should take that as incentive to find a niche rather than the somewhat chaotic approach I take to reviewing!

Will be intrigued what blog ideas people come up with

haha it varies from year to year honestly. sometimes we vote in the literal sense, with an actual multiple choice poll. other years it's more of a guided discussion and a pos/neg system.

Now now guys, don't run off immediately now that you're contributors (seems to be a common thing in the past).

Anyways, there are some great people in the promotions. Should be fun.

It's not like it was a competition between Doof and macman, they were judged on a completely different set up criteria. The three (five if you count Treb and Arcade) that were promoted were the ones voted on by reviewing etc, mac was kind of a bonus for a niche blog role.

I didn't get promoted but my position as the geriatric enfant terrible of Sput only solidified.
