13 minutes and this is the first track? Damn.
I liked it enough though. Will probably check the album when it drops.

Holy shit.
Well, if you're looking for a new concept album...
|
| |
Man this sounds ambitious as hell, hopefully it pans out
Cool video though, I really liked the additional commentary.
|
| |
It was interesting to see some of the behind-the-scenes stuff but some of the commentary about himself was pretty fucking stupid.
|
| |
Arjen's a goofball but I love him. Excited to hear this, I enjoyed The Theory of Everything.
|
| |
A refreshing promo video, actually had a nice touch, even if his commentary about some things was a bit childish. I liked his down to earth approach and enthusiasm though. Ayreon is a great concept of a band and you can rely on them for a good sci-fi story with its fair amount of cheese. This one has a comic vibe and I like it, most vocalists are great.
|
| |
Fuckin awesome, can't wait!
|
| |
Really like this one. It basically could have been two distinct songs, but Arjen is as Arjen does.
Michael Mills interpreting the binary thing was really a cool liner note. Actually, all of the notes were really cool. Arjen has always seemed like a guy who would be awesome to pal around with.
|
| |
Okay I didn't know there was a band from my country already doing what Earthside is doing now but then as a solo-project lol
|
| |
Yeah, Mills and Karevik are the stars on here. Kürsch's and Floor's parts are also amazing, albeit a little short. Actually pretty stoked for this tbh.
|
| |
yo after this we're all going larping.....you guys down?
jk, hope its good
|
| |
Sold.
|
| |
Floor was rad (as always), agreed. Karevik didn't grab me the way he normally does. Not yet. Bet he will, though.
|
| |
I love Karevik in almost everything he's in and this is no exception.
|
| |
this guy will never work out how to make music that isn't tacky and one-dimensional as hell. lots of talent though
|
| |
he looks so awkward, so skinny and tall with a strange face
|
| |
Interesting... hope this isn't The Astonishing v.2
|
| |
^Isn't The Astonishing Dream Theater basically doing an Ayreon album sans guest singers though? lol
|
| |
seemed more like a sample of 10 songs instead of a single track......some of those vocals were really great though
|
| |
"Interesting... hope this isn't The Astonishing v.2"
The Astonishing was Dream Theater trying to do an Aryeon album to begin with tbh
Ironic seeing that James LaBrie is doing guest vocals
|
| |
oh hell yes.
haha love the video. Can't wait to hear this in its entirety.
|
| |
I should probably jump on listening to this band.
|
| |
Although I really like Ayreon and Arjen's other projects, I musrt say I'm getting pretty tired of his output. The story's are pretty lame and pretty much always revolve around some sort of future world where machines have taken over. The words "mind", "galaxy", "universe" and "ancient" are used in basically every song. The whole "guitar riff doubled with a Hammond organ" thing is also getting annoying.
I advised Arjen once on Facebook to see what would happen if he would go in a studio with a small band and record an album in just two weeks; probably more interesting than "The Source"... On the other hand, maybe it's another nice album, there's simply not a lot of bad output from this guy....Must admit I skipped his last album with Anneke van Giersbergen. Didn't even bother to listen....
|
| |
This was pretty good, vocals and instrumentation alike. Totally spellbound by Floor every time I hear and see her. Looking forward to find out what parts she has in this, will def check.
|
| |
Some of the vocal features on this sound a little lackluster and production's a little thin, but otherwise this could be cool.
|
| |
i find a lot of the vocals to be pretty great, particularly Karevik and Erikson
only vocals i didn't care for were LaBrie's
|
| |
Actually I'd like another Guilt Machine, to be honest.
|
| |
Yeah, LaBrie sounds really bored tbh. Eriksen is amazing, one of the best performances I've ever heard from him.
I just wished the music was more memorable. Had the same problem with 01011.
|
| |
not gonna lie, listened to this about 5X......enjoying the shit out of it, including parts that didn't initially stand out for me......Allen and Erikson's trade offs are awesome
|
| |
I agree, even as a DT fan, LaBrie sounds like he's on autopilot. I also agree with Dizchu, a new Guilt Machine album would be awesome.
|
| |
Another overlong album by Ayreon. They have some great material here and there scattered in each albums.
|
| |
you're probably right Jethro, but this song is great
|
| |
He's been doing the same stuff for like 10 years now. I don't know man up till 0110011 or what the name of that disc was I was totally on board, Guilt Machine was great as well.. Now I don't care much anymore
|
| |
01100110 was pretty mediocre indeed. THe Theory Of Everything is however great, also something of a better storyline there. Keith Emerson's and John Wetton's additions to that album make it especially interesting and worth your while to pick up one of these days.
|
| |
I'm coming back to this quite often, tight and versatile track from beginning to end. Really looking forward to the release.
|
| |
me too Davil
|
| |
Glad to hear Titan. I'm pretty confident this turns out very good, will be worth the waiting.
|
| |
THIS IIIIISN' T OVER
NOT AS LONG AS WE'RE ALIIIIIIVE
Love that Michael Eriksen part, very catchy.
The whole lineup is very well chosen and fitting the story's characters perfectly imo.
|
| |
Love that Michael Eriksen part, very catchy. [2]
|
| |
so im told this has leaked!
|
| |
album blows
|
| |
I don't know this new album yet, but I have great expectations about this album, as happens with all Ayreon's albums.
|
| |
i just cant handle an entire album of this.....The Day The World Breaks Down is amazing though
