Stone Sour announce 'Hydrograd'

2017-01-23 by Toondude | 23 Comments
Corey Taylor-fronted alternative metal band Stone Sour have officially announced their new album, entitled Hydrograd, which is set to be released sometime during the summer via Roadrunner Records. The album is being co-produced by Jay Ruston.

The album will also feature the band's newest members, including guitarist Christian Martucci (who became the permanent replacement after Jim Root was fired from the band in 2013) and bassist Johny Chow (who became a permanent member in 2014).

Was half expecting Mikey Doling or Logan Mader to be the new guitarist cos Corey seems to just be hiring Max Cavalera's old band mates for this.

Root: Hey Corey, you want to work on the new Slipknot album? I've got flashdrives chalk full of riffs!

Taylor: Sorry man I can't right now. Go call up Joey and see what he's up to.

Root: We kicked Joey out of the band remember?

Taylor: Oh yeah lol

Root: So why can't we work on the new Slipknot record? Tf are you doing right now?

Taylor: Uhhhhhhhhhhjhhhhjjjjhhhh *hangs up phone*

"Be real though at this point who isn't an old band mate of Max?"

Well Soulfly have only had 4 permanent guitarists, 4 bassists and 4 drummers (5 if you count Kanky Lora who stands in for Zyon when he can't play Soulfly shows). One of which is Stone Sour's Roy Mayorga.

CavCon have had one guitarist, one drummer and 4 bassists (apart from Joe Duplantier, 3 of them have been in rotation depending on who's free - one is Johnny Chow)

Sepultura before Max left had 2 lead guitarists, one bassist and one drummer. This doesn't include short term bassists from the early years like Roberto Raffan or ex-vocalist Wagner Lamounier.

Also the dude has collaborated with literally everybody that's available.

Yeah Scuro but KBK has had only one lineup change (Koller replacing Elitch) and Nailbomb was just two full time members. And one-off collaborations don't count.
