the live recording sounds pretty awesome, also love the different reimagining artworks
the real life reconstruction by Ashley Rose Couture is absolutely stunning
| |
That John Baizley artwork tho...
| |
Holy fucking shit the artwork and hype
| |
:0
| |
Yeeep this will be the best thing ever
| |
Those are all sexy, damn.
| |
the skull one is the fucking best
| |
the ashley rose couture reconstruction is 11/10 jawdropping
preordered it within 30 seconds of seeing it
| |
wish i got to see this in person sooo bad. title track sounds amazing.
| |
alternate artworks ranked
1. Thomas Hooper
2. Randy Ortiz
3. Ashley Rose Couture
4. John Baizley
5, Florian Bertmer
4 and 5 dont really fit the music for me but they're pretty nice still
| |
I don't like the Randy Ortiz and Florian Bertme covers tbh
| |
Baizley's artwork is horrible, in my opinion. He drew a giant Zach Braff face onto a head that was too small.
| |
Oh my god dat fucking ARTWORK.
| |
red LP cover is awesome, rest I don't care for
| |
damn those artworks are awesome
| |
so i'm the only person who's not that into the album covers? tbh they're fine but the original destroys them
| |
Well yeah the original is iconic but these are all pretty nice interpretations
| |
i guess. i'm just really feeling any of em
| |
fucking yaaaaas
| |
take my fucking money
| |
OHHH SHIIIEEET
| |
"so i'm the only person who's not that into the album covers? tbh they're fine but the original destroys them"
I'm with you. I think most of them are mediocre to shitty and I'd rather just look at the original or maybe the Ashley Rose one, if I were to buy this.
| |
Alternative cover design for the live version: http://imgur.com/a/73R3o
| |
last two covers are the best, the first and third are really gimmicky, the second one is ok i guess, but doesn't have anything in common with the original cover
| |
That Ortiz is epicccccc. MINE MINE MINE
| |
why is nerdist posting converge news
what
| |
Jane doe remaster when?
| |
lol remaster
new album when?
| |
new album when?
it's being tracked
| |
"Jane doe remaster when?"
Jane Doe does not need a remaster
| |
It doesn't need one, but every time Converge remasters their older material it bumps it up quite a bit.
| |
Some of the artwork is really fucking cool.
| |
Essential
| |
I've been having crippling anxiety about needing a new desktop wallpaper for a week or so now. Life is good again.
| |
preordered the couture hard
| |
The Couture artwork so so fucking hhhhnnngggg
| |
hell yeah
| |
"Jane Doe does not need a remaster."
Agreed, but if it ever gets the You Fail Me Redux treatment I'd buy it in a heartbeat. That remaster is fucking incredible.
| |
tbh id like to see a yfm type remix on no heroes
| |
not going to get a new LP for a while probably, so I guess this suffices for now.
| |
man still can't believe these all sold as fast as they did, by the time they went up, i went to go get my credit card, and i took a shit and came back and all but the one out of 2000 were sold out and now i'm mad butthurt lol
| |
oh gawwwwwwd the stream of the title track live is gorgeous. i appreciate the fairly smooth tone of all the instruments; it's a welcome change-up from kurt ballou's insanely repetitive approach of recording everything clearly and sharply, then compressing it all into a (positively) claustrophobic and messy, dirty mix. this live recording has retained those two former qualities but the instruments are give more space to breathe and its beautiful yet still fuckin crushing.
| |
"tbh id like to see a yfm type remix on no heroes"
Fuck it
Remaster everything, hell I'd buy a AWLWLB remaster, I just need more Converge in my life
"man still can't believe these all sold as fast as they did, by the time they went up, i went to go get my credit card, and i took a shit and came back and all but the one out of 2000 were sold out and now i'm mad butthurt lol"
People are starved for new converge content. It's been like five years since their last record
| |
lol pre-ordered the hooper and the couture life is good
| |

the ashley one is available
| |
europe or usa?
I just bought the hooper LP like an hour ago
| |
Fuck, they sold out??? Press some more, ffs.
| |
Couter and Bertmer nailed it imo, exceedingly good
| |
really excited for this. Anyone who hasn't checked out You Fail Me redux, DO SO!
| |
Just to let some folks know, they still have the Randy Ortiz edition and the Florian Bertmer edition on the band's Kings Road Merch store. I got the milky clear Thomas Hooper edition. Super hyped for this.
| |
I actually really like the Florian Bertmer artwork.
| |
I like all of them, myself. My least favorite is the John Dyer Baizley edition, if I were to pick a least favorite. I also got the Ashley Rose Coutore t shirt.
| |
thanks for the heads up, sb129
| |
No problem, my friend.
| |
i was there, that was one hell of a concert. started out with jacob saying something like "ok let's get this over with" and then they just blew us all apart. really glad they're releasing the live album.
| |
Would rather have gotten the remastered version
| |
what a circlejerk lmao
| |
A remastered Jane Doe would be terrible
| |
fuck this. write a new album, motherfuckers.
| |
The drums on Jane Doe are the only thing that need to be remastered.
| |
http://www.deathwishinc.eu/products/585042-converge-jane-live-ashley-rose-couture-edition
that artwork is just gorgeous
| |
"fuck this. write a new album, motherfuckers."
They already did. They're recording this spring.
| |
Dillinger may be finished but thank god we've still got Converge
| |
I thought Dillinger was Sputnik's favorite metalcore outfit.
| |
Probs joint with Converge
| |
"OH BOY, I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR JACOB BANNON YELL INTERMITTENTLY AND INCOHERENTLY THROUGH EVERY SONG LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES."
Do you dislike Converge or nah?
| |
yeah as usual baizley's artwork is the worst i've ever seen
| |
Agreed, it's pretty bad.
| |
that real life reconstruction is amazing though
| |
Most definitely. Did you pick one of them up?
| |
Nah, I don't care too much for live albums unless it's something *really* special. I already have Jane Doe on vinyl, I don't need a live rendition of it.
| |
I'd essentially only buy it on CD for that real life reconstruction artwork but in the end I guess I'd probably prefer to just buy a print if they were available.
| |
I hear you. I'm not for live records very much myself, but for some reason, I like the idea of this. I have it on vinyl as well, but went ahead and picked one up. Just another way to hear the record, for me.
| |
I'll sample it when it's up for streaming and if it sounds different enough to seem essential, I'll buy it, but there are perhaps only 10 live albums I can name that I'd ever call essential (even though my favourite album ever is a live album)
| |
You can hear the title track on the deathwish bandcamp, believe for a small sample. By the way, I see you dig Pestilence. Nice man! Consuming Impulse is their best for me, then Spheres.
| |
oh i'll go check it now then. and yeah the first four pestilence albums are all 5/5 for me
| |
I haven't heard Malleus enough, which is my own fault lol. Still love Testimony but would personally put Spheres and Consuming over it.
| |
yeah as usual baizley's artwork is the worst i've ever seen
Huh?

| |
I hate those covers with a passion, his style is abysmal
| |
damn never realized the chicks in Baroness' purple album looked like fucking Olive Oyl lmao
| |
Yeah his women always look really wrong in a weird way
| |
I've come to like Chris Panatier's style better, even though they're similar.
https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a3637895495_16.jpg
| |
Pretty neat, I've never heard versions of these tracks that sounded good live
Wait what the chick on the cover has been with her eyes closed this whole time what the fuck
| |
I like that the covers are beautiful yet slightly unsettling. I always thought it was intentional.
| |
Yeah Panatier is much better, even though most people mistake his art for "that guy from baroness"
| |
"OH BOY, I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR JACOB BANNON YELL INTERMITTENTLY AND INCOHERENTLY THROUGH EVERY SONG LIKE HE ALWAYS DOES."
lol gtfo
| |
A remaster of You Fail me and now a live Jane Doe album...iunno I think band is closing it down. My guess is their next album will be it for them just like Dillinger this year. Jacob doing his crappy solo shit also convinces me I'm right
| |
people age, bands end
mind blown
| |
I'm amazed theyre still going considering how destroyed jake's voice probably is at this point
| |
but they have a new album in the works plus I wouldn't be surprised if something blood moon related came out so who knows.
| |
It's coming out March 3rd
| |
