My best friend said it isn't too bad so far, but she hasn't played it much. I just have trouble dropping $60 on any game these days. And given how I've felt about the past FF's, I'm good on waiting.

Yeah, I played the demo. Gonna play the whole thing on VR. My friend and I are recording the entire thing for our youtube channel.

It's pretty different, Xeno. If you are an old school RE fan, you'll love the callbacks, and the atmosphere is simply amazing. But don't expect action of any sort ala RE5 or RE6. It's first person hyper tense horror.

FF XV is a good game

Xeno, there's an RE7 demo called "Beginning Hour" I think available on all consoles. It's free, and it's a taste of what the game will be like, though it's not an actual part of the game (though it influences it in some way).

If you're interested, you should be able to get it on XBone, PS4, and I think PC now too.

Yeah FFXV is legitimately quite good. It's the best game in the franchise since IX. I'm like one ridiculous level 99 60-floor can't-use-items dungeon away from 100% completion and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.

It works as a self contained story too but the newer games pretty much retcon everything in the first game making the events that happen lose all impact.

I dunno if any of you watch Hot Pepper Gaming, but one of my favorite reviews was for KH: Dream Drop Distance (I think?) The girl reviewing it is all "The story is typical Disney bullshit, believe in your yourself, friendship overcomes all, and just... who cares? NOBODY CARES."

I is objectively a better game (esp. story, level design, pacing, combat depth, pretty much everything except the obvious like graphics and such).

Also, been awhile, but am I imagining it or did your party members become like totally fucking useless in II vs. I? I remember in I Donald and Goofy or whoever your special party member was for whatever world you were in were damn near equal in ability to Sora, so you as the player only comprised about 40% or so of the overall party's power, but in II it seemed like you had to do everything your damn self cause they didn't do jack. I remember leveling up so high on I that I could literally fight Ansem in like two minutes but just hitting lock on and sending the boys after him and they fucked his ass right up while I just stood back and watched. Fuck if that was possible in II.

I love the tipping point in which the Ronso Fangs go from super OP because you can never get the ball off of them to the worst team in the league because that's all they have going for them.

I always stick with the classic Aurochs line-up. I even re-hire Wakka and sub him in for Tidus occasionally. But the Jecht shot is too OP.

VIII is batshit insane, but I don't think it's a terrible game.

Junctioning is so broken, though. And worse, you're basically forced to abuse it and break the game because enemies level up in unison with your party.

Low level runs are honestly the best way to play that game.
