|

so awful it doesnt need saying but imma say it anyway
|
| |
A Brit who sounds like an American singing about Mexico
|
| |
His voice is a lot more fitting than I would've thought. Everything else sucks though.
|
| |
You can't stop The Snop.
The Snop.
Snop.
|
| |
He's acting like he was born in South Texas, near the border or something....
Why? He went from the singer in a British screamo band to this... Why would you go from the second most hated demographic of 1st world human being to the most universally hated? Why would you willingly force this facade onto yourself?
|
| |
oh
oh no
|
| |
This is a joke right?
|
| |
Just....why?
|
| |
Lol, this is awful.
|
| |
Lol, judging by listening to 30 seconds of this, I bet that he wrote this after eating the worm in a shitty brand of tequila.
|
| |
Interesting voice considering that he's a brit but these lyrics are borderline cancer.
|
| |
"to the most universally hated?"
are you an American? Because country is easily a top genre here along with pop, rock, and hip hop. Country music makes bank here and always has. Going country is selling out, not the opposite.
|
| |
I think the love for country music in America is more localized, no?
|
| |
It's not as big as I thought, but it's still significant: http://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/rock-music-twice-popular-pop-america-rb-rules-streaming/
in 2014 it was 11% of music consumed and 11.8% of total album sales, 12% of downloads, and 6% of music streamed. It's not huuuuuuge per se but it is a fairly well-defined market and probably easier to break into than pop/rock/rnb/hip hop imo because of how much smaller a "scene" it is, despite its overall popularity.
|
| |
Country music popularity has definitely been decreasing over the decades, there's no doubt about that.
|
| |
This sounds like it should be a Budweiser commercial you'd see during a Monday Night Football game.
|
| |
From my experience of living in southern Minnesota, country music is apart of the rural and small town culture. Country music was always being played in bars and events and there is multiple radio stations that would play country music.
|
| |
I actually like this lol
|
| |
yay, more Bro-Country. Just what the world needed.
|
| |
There are always people who like certain genres of music. I was being a bit hyperbolic, trying to throw out some humor. Yes, I'm from the US, but mostly everyone I know says that they hate country as a genre.
I've always perceived it as a genre similar to trap in that regard. It's obviously popular in a lot of crowds since there's still a market for it, but a lot of mainstream country represents every shallow, generic and dumbed-down stereotype you can think of about 'Murcia. As is evident by this song, actually. lol. Just as mainstream Trap music tends to do that with a lot of African American culture.
I'll clarify in saying that country's not necessarily 'hated' but a good bit of it is definitely low brow. It's a high contention genre to switch to because of the preconceived notions people have of it, especially after coming out of a band like AA.
|
| |
Are we all just in agreement that this is awful?
A British man just used the words 'Senoritas' and 'an ice cold bottle of bud' in a country song. You can't get any more sellout/pandering than that.
|
| |
The Snop
|
| |
I mean it sounds like basically anything else I used to hear on country radio growing up, so it could be a hit?

"British screamo band"
....uh.....nah.
|
| |
I mean, do you want the verbatim definition of the genre? I know they're metalcore, Post-hardcore, whatevercore. I listen to the genres quite often. Again, hyperbole...
|
| |
I see what you mean, that doesn't stop it from being completely incorrect though. I'm not trolling, I'm just saying.
