Well, it pretty much takes away their old metalcore sound in favor of an even more accessible one that scales back songwriting ingenuity that was already debatable on previous albums. Riffs aren't interesting, vocals are a noticeable step down. Nothing really grabs your attention.

I hope that's real enough.

Sounds good to me, grabs my attention, vocals are rad, riffs are fun. It's all subjective, but I get not liking the direction.

I don't mind when bands change, unless I see that change as negative. Quite a few bands I know have made noticeable stylistic shifts through albums, but they made their sound better or took it to a new, interesting area.

Here, it just feels like they gutted their sound for metalcore's version of radio rock.
