"Myles Kennedy (from Alter Bridge/Slash fame) on guitars" Nice!
I think I like this more than everything from the last one. Good that they're darker again.

Myles Kennedy is in this for a grand total of 15 seconds. I don't think that qualifies him as a member.

pleasently surprising, not that it is necessarily a good direction per se or sounds good

story time, there was this one metalhead girl who went to my highschool who used to wear a lucuna coil tshirt every day. I lived in the inner city and we didn't fuck with nothing but hip hop so I didn't know wtf kinda satanic shit she was rocking lol. she was also one of like 3 white ppl in the whole school so she stuck out like a sore thumb

it was only years later after I got into metal that it hit me that this was the band and I thought damn these guys aren't worthy of such devotion lol. seriously, their music is hella boring. the shit ain't even catchy. what is the point of them in 2016? pretty sure even goth girls moved on from this

@Keyblade.. from Karmacode onwards they turned into a generic and pretty mediocre band but if you give Unleashed Memories and Comalies a chance, realise how they had a real spark and had a knack to create some intoxicating songs with strong melodies and were more influenced by Tiamat and The Gathering than say Disturbed and Linkin Park as in later albums.

Their first few releases were fantastic, and they still write some good songs nowadays. They're just lost among all the generic alt. metal

Enjoy the Silence I think you mean. If thats the worst cover you've ever heard you don't wanna hear their cover of Losing my Religion. Its a shocker.
@Keyblade - listen to songs like Comalies, Cold Heritage, Unspoken, Senzafine which display the potential they had as a band.

Incidentally their best songs are always the ones which are dominated by Cristina's vocals e.g Comalies, Cold Heritage, Senzafine, Unspoken, Entwined, Angels Punishment, Purify. I really dont care for Andreas's vocals.

Two observations:

1. I didn't know that it was possible for Andrea's vocals to get *worse*.

2. Christina's vocals are stunning, but they're buried under the music, which is weird and annoying.

Yeah Andreas's vocals are killing this song/band. Here he sounds like he's trying to channel Burton Bell from Fear Factory and its just embarrassing.
Can only wonder what direction the band would take if they dropped this whole nu metal charade and got rid of Andreas

Ironically, that's why I dig this. I don't like his clean singing, but I think he sounds alright at the more harsh style.

I get a bit of a Max Cavalera vibe from him here.
