These fools are so tech yet they couldn't even sync the vid properly HAH
| | | pretty cool tune
| | | Lmao, couldn't agree more with bloc.
This is just boring wankery without any emotion at all aside from Tommy's vocals, who is doing a pretty good job here. Definitely better than his vocals on The Coma Machine and Memory Palace... Also the production of the instruments is so hollow and about the stalest I've heard in metal since St. Anger.
| | | Seriously, this is pretty lifeless other than the vocals. I can't imagine how boring it would be without them.
| | | ^BTBAM fans using wankery as a criticism has to be the most retarded shit ever.
| | | If these guys could get a hold on real melody, and not their techy interpretation of it, they could make a great spacey prog metal band.
Instead it's just a lot of the same old. Impressive, really, but not enough to stand out.
| | | I can't stand this kind of metal, like someone above said, it's incredibly soulless and lifeless. Wankery sounds alright ~1% of the time, the rest just puts me to sleep.
| | | boring as all hell [∞]
| | | Well there is good wankery a la Protest The Hero, BTBAM, Sikth, AAL which actually grooves and flow well with the song etc. and there is bad Wankery a la Michael Angelo, Yngwie Malsteem, Chris Broderick, these guys here and a lot of other prog/djent gimmicks, who just prioritize speed over everything else, at least that is how I see it. I'm not so much a fan of newer BTBAM but take Paul Waggoners Solo in Selkies for example. He actually has some killer feel to his wanking.
| | | How do they get Tommy Rogers to do this? Money? Also, wtf is with playing in front of your computer? I get it that people do covers and stuff on youtube but it makes this whole thing look extremely generic..especially with the audio not being in sync.
| | | yeah this sucks, can't believe he agreed to do vocals for this shit.
| | | @Eggvander I can barely tolerate ANY of those bands. PTH and AAL in small doses but even then they aren't that great.
And yes, these guys are highly influenced by Jason Becker, Marty Friedman etc, and this project is more blowing off steam and showing what they can do. Their bands Cynthesis and Zero Hour are better / criminally underrated and a lot of you are pretty ignorant thinking Tommy Rogers is wasting his time here, or that's he's doing it for money.
| | | Can't believe he agrees to do a lot of things...
