Annihilator announce album #15 2015-06-02 by tempest-- | 15 Comments | Canadian thrash metal giants Annihilator have announced details about their upcoming 15th studio album, titled Suicide Society.
The record is set to be released on September 18 through UDR Music.
Annihilator main man Jeff Waters handled all songwriting, played all guitars and bass, engineered, produced, mixed and mastered Suicide Society, and for the first time since 1997's Remains, Waters also took care of lead vocals.
Waters comments on the departure of vocalist and guitarist Dave Padden; Quote:
|
Dave and I have, essentially, been Annihilator since 2003, but he resigned last December, citing having had enough of touring, being away from home and other commitments. I thank him for his 11 years with Annihilator. That said, Annihilator and I are known for never giving up and, occasionally, coming up with something even better than its former offering(s): this is undeniably the case with Suicide Society!

Waters is one of my fav guitarists in thrash and damn my respect only increases after seeing all his duties on this new album.
| | | Waters is singing on this one, just like in King of the Kill.
| | | Also on Refresh the Demon and Remains. Seems like he's trying to do a Mustaine impression in some parts of this album.
| | | The band will hit Lombardy in October, and a few days later Razor will too. Might as well go to one of those shows since I'm missing on Death Angel because damn my luck.
| | | Yessssss...
| | | Jeff rated himself this album a 8.9 out of 10, which is on the level of Never, Neverland. Can't wait to hear it all!
| | | This is going to get interesting.
| | | Can't wait
| | | Shame about the absence of Dave, but I thoroughly respect Waters for carrying on Annihilator's legacy after all those years, as well as obviously being a grand musician. New album should be pretty good then.
| | | Yeah, it's really sad Dave left the band. He's a badass singer and his presence was an enrichment for Annihilator. Gonna see them in October and was pretty stoked to see Dave but I'm sure they'll pull off an awesome show even without him. Looking forward to the new album.

| | | it wasnt that bad
| | | Sounds like a Megadeth b-side to me
| | | yeah, he is definitely doing a Mustaine impression with the vocals, I mean I said the same thing way back when I made this article!
the riffs are Annihilator through and through though, you can just tell Jeff's playing when you hear it.
| | | Better than the t/t for sure.
