Ringo criticises The Stones

2007-05-10 by TheStarclassicTreatment | 16 Comments
The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr is not impressed by The Rolling Stones' live performances.

Rolling Stones' frontman Mick Jagger had given the famous sticksman some tickets for a Stones show, but Starr'd rather watch them from the comfort of his own home.

Ringo Starr admits he didn't enjoy sitting in the audience at one of the rockers' stadium concerts, as he spent the duration of the gig watching the band on a huge screen:

"Mick [Jagger] got us the tickets and we had great seats, but we ended up watching the screens all the time. I thought, 'Well, I can just watch them on TV', so I haven't bothered going to a stadium show since.'"

Not a very strong criticism, but then again I can't see Ringo feeling strongly about much.

Anyway this is sort of dumb and shouldn't really be considered news.

The Stones put on great shows. I was near the back at MSG and they were still great from there. Its the music that matters the most anyway

its not actually a critism of the band themselves at all. Its a critism of the stadiums they play. he doesnt actually say there a bad band live once.

Ringo's playing style is nearly flawless for the Beatles, I don't know what you're talking about.

You shouldn't tell the arguably most influential drummer of rock music that.

He isn't nearly the most influential drummer of rock music.

i have to disagree with ringo being the most influential drummer... baker, bonham, moon and peart i think played a bigger role...ringo just tagged along for the beatle's ride
