Make Do and Mend return

2014-12-10 by ConsumerOfNut | 14 Comments
Connecticut-native rock act Make Do and Mend have announced the title and tracklist of their third full length record. Don't Be Long will be released February 24, 2015 on a Rise Records imprint started by the band themselves called Stay Close.

The band's last release was a split with the Flatliners released on Rise Records in June of last year, after which the band seemed to stay relatively silent on social media aside from playing a select few shows, including Fest 13. This silence is addressed in an interview with brothers Matt (drums) & James Carroll (guitar/vocals), which can be found on Noisey, along with the first single and title track from the record.

Really glad they're back, hadnt heard from them in a while. That being said, not super impressed with the new song.

Understandable. I dig the verses and the music, but the chorus is kind of a drag. I didn't care much for the first single from the last record until I listened to it a million times though so I'm not TOO worried. I have a soft spot for these guys.

I was hoping they'd bring back some of their energy and the grittiness in his vocals since the last album. So that's sweet, although it sounds like the vocalist is trying TOO hard to bring that grit for this song

Vocals sound good but the rest is too clean and boring. Could tell they were going this way after the last album.

Haven't listened to this song yet but this band was very important to me from like 2010 to 2012, so I'm going to give it a fair chance.
They really remind me of meeting and getting to know my then girlfriend and now soon to be wife.

Sure does. It's practically flawless in my opinion. That album really helped when I was going through some seriously depressing shit in late 2012 to early 2013. Haven't listened to it as much since but I do love to jam it every now and then.

Average song. Looking forward to the album though.
