Coheed Enter Studio, reBassist

2007-04-25 by jimay333 | 18 Comments
Coheed and Cambria are set to begin work on their 4th studio album, (their 2nd for Columbia Records) with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush, Stone Sour), this week in Los Angeles. Bassist Michael Todd, who left the band last August due to "personal reasons," has returned just in time to join the band in the studio.

The album, which is tentatively titled "No World for Tomorrow", is set to be released this Fall, and is said to be the last chapter in the ongoing saga of Coheed and Cambria Kilgannon, the main characters in a story that wraps all the bands "concept albums" into one.

The band will headline this summer's Warped Tour.

This is probably a dumb question but is Chris Pennie still playing drums for them?

I wish Josh'd rejoin too. I like Pennie but Josh is one of the most overlooked drummers around today.
And i though the nu album was called Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV: Volume 2. ???
Cant wait anyhow

His drumming on their last album was pretty lame. I'm glad Pennie is here, but I'm really curious as to what he'll do.

Im so freakin happy that Mike Todd is back hes one of the greatest progressive rocker bassist ever i think. And i cant wait to see them in warped tour. The story line just keeps getting better with every album.....i love C&C!

I tend to disagree, the 'Apollo' songs-pt.1 and 2 had reeli interedting grooves in there. I think for some reason they mite bring bak the screams back for this one, wot with Pennie joining and Mic just rejoining all of a sudden. Also, this is the 'preqel' album, his voice has gotten lower every album, because the characters have grown up? If thats right, imagine how high he'll sing on the new one lol

I really hope that they take a turn in their style for this. Theyre great musicians but I can hardly enjoy listening to anything they write, except the song Welcome Home. thats classic.

I never really got into these guys but its good to hear their old bassist rejoined. I'm also glad to see they have a normal album title.

Damn, good to here Mic's back. He's a really good bassist, and I can't wait to see what Pennie does for the group on this CD, either. Finally, we have a band line-up that will truly compliment the music perfectly.

At this point, I don't there's a chance that they could screw up this next album.

i dont understand why josh eppard is getting so much flak here, he's a really great drummer...even though good apollo didnt really showcase any of the stuff hes capable of...sure he cant play in 23/16 and break the time-space continuum with his arms like pennie, but the stuff that he was doing on the second stage turbine blade and IKSOSE:3 was just so freaking undeniably cool, even if it was really technical. give him a break.

looking so forward to this though, i just really hope its more in the same line as their work before good apollo.

I like Chris Pennie. One of my favorite drummers.

This band isn't that bad either, though I think they should shred more.
