SHIT THIS HAS RAKIM IN IT!!
| |
lol Linkin Park making 6 minute songs, totally prog
| |
If you don't want to Shazam it, here you go.

| |
How are they still making albums?
| |
Can someone tell me if this is any good?
| |
This sounds so amateur
| |
It's okayish I suppose, but it feels really forced and hollow.
| |
I don't like the intro or Rakim's part but the rest is good.
| |
Link doesn't work
| |
wow what the fuck is this
| |
If the new record is inspired by punk rock then it should be a lot more interesting compared to their recent stuff. Well, hopefully anyway.
| |
Hahahaha I don't know what to think right now after listening to that. I guess it's better than what they have been doing
| |
Hmm lyrics aside not bad. Sounds more raw compared to their other stuff. Should be interesting.
| |
Chester sounds really annoying on this track.
| |
To listen to the six minute track, one must Shazam a Linkin Park song where they will see an option to listen to the song.
Ugh, has "Shazam" seriously become a verb?
| |
so...as one of the human beings who loved A Light That Never Comes...my jaw has dropped. "Guilty All The Same" beats that track right out of the water.
| |
welp color me awfully fucking intrigued
| |
The last 20 seconds was pretty awesome. I hope the new album is a lot of that.
| |
That intro was straight shit tier but it got better at the 1:00 mark. Does this remind anyone else of something Sum 41 would release?
| |
It reminds me of Avenged Sevenfold, I don't like how un-melodic Chester is in the chorus but other than that it's pretty nice.
| |
Good track but don't see why they needed Rakim when they have a rapper in the band.
| |
I was just waiting for Chester to scream the last line of the chorus at least once but it never happened.
| |
Feels very unpolished too
| |
should have featured KRS-ONE instead to maintain relevancy tbh
| |
They didn't have a producer for this record so it's their first time self-producing. I expected some flaws in production.
| |
first thing I've actually enjoyed by this band since I was in middle school
| |
shinoda and hahn are the reason this band was ever good. them producing over that fuck rubin is terrific.
| |
rakim
| |
...shazam
What is that
| |
is that like Kazaa?
| |
"Good track but don't see why they needed Rakim when they have a rapper in the band."
This so hard, but then again, Mike can just perform Rakim's bits live
| |
Such a plain guitar riff, and a really weak chorus. Rakim's verse basically saves this thing from being awful.
| |
It's not bad, but it doesn't really sound like Linkin Park.
| |
"To listen to the six minute track, one must Shazam a Linkin Park song where they will see an option to listen to the song."
best idea ever.
| |
So it's basically an intro, then the same thing over and over, Rakim's part and the same thing over and over again until the end. I expected something more when I read six minutes, anyone can fill a song by repeating the same thing over and over again.
| |
Jesus. How many times can they jam a shitty chorus in your face?
| |
...shazam
What is that
shaq reference
| |
Chorus is quite shitty, I like the intro though. Track itself is kind of mediocre imo
| |
Besides the chorus I like this
| |
that was terrible
| |
best.surprise.EVER!!!
| |
Chester's vocals are woefully whiney.
Horrific, just horrific.
| |
Good track but don't see why they needed Rakim when they have a rapper in the band. because it's rakim and the rapper in the band is mike shinoda are you kidding
| |
Wow, not bad at all... Chester's vocals and the chorus especially sound forced, but the instrumentation is cool, reminds me a bit of City of Evil-era Avenged Sevenfold. Best thing this band has done since their first couple albums imo.
| |
wtf rakim for real??
| |
i haven't listened but my reaction was the same
| |
There's guitars on it!
| |
Surprisingly solid.
| |
Absolute bollocks
| |
Track is really solid, still could be better with a fast rap of mike shinoda, a scratch from mr hahn and a visceral scream of chester like in a place for my head or given up. Still instrumentation is kinda cool and rakim part is sweet
| |
LEAVE PUNK ALONE!!!!!!! :''''(
| |
wtf there is drums and guitars in a LP song?
song is alright... Chester's vocals are kinda bad here tho..
| |
I kinda wish they announced their breakup instead...
| |
Song feels very stretched. But it's a good'n
| |
not terrible, sounds nothing like LP so that's a start
| |
I was just waiting for Chester to scream the last line of the chorus at least once but it never happened. [2]
| |
A good sign for the future. pretty happy with it. even though the song really isn't that good. chester is definitely weaker than usual here and the beginning of the intro blows before it gets good. Chorus is mediocre at best too. But stoked to hear some drums and guitar for a change. Outro is good. Def could dig some screams tho.
| |
and Rakim was fine, but honestly would rather have a fast Shinoda rap.
| |
it's nice, even the chorus isn't too bad
| |
this isn't too bad. i definitely get the sum 41 vibe too. reminds me of something off "Chuck"
| |
the song is on youtube now, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8ARb-yZWtE
I think it is alright. It is definetely the most interesting thing they've done in years and it raises my hopes that they might release a decent album.
However parts of it sound like an amateur band trying to imitate the classic linkin park sound but slightly modifying it by adding some rather boring and flawed parts...
| |
That intro lol. Song is bad what a SURPRISEEEE
| |
Chester's vocals don't blend well with the rest of the instruments on this. Also I would've tuned the
guitars down one more half-step to sound more like a faster paced Hybrid Theory instead of a less
wanky A7X
| |
I hate surprises
| |
Should've cut that hip-hop part, Rakim or not. Aside from that I guess it's their best song since anything after Meteora.
| |
If LP weren't horrid live and 30StM still was good the tour would be neat, don't really want to attend as things stand right now however.
| |
It reminds me of Avenged Sevenfold for some reason.
On another note it reminds me of the studio version of Qwerty they put out a while back.
Its ok
| |
It sounds like A7x cause the guitars are using a lot of the same motifs (I.e. Drop D tuning, harmonic minor riffs when the song kicks in, faux-thrashy drumming) that A7x overuses
| |
Daaayum, this song's pretty good. Never thought I'd say that about a new Linkin Park song... And XingKing, you're totally right about this sounding like Sum41. Hopefully the rest of the album sounds great n' not jus this one track.
| |
Not great, but still better than like...everything off of their last 3 albums.
| |
sounds like Sum 41
| |
honestly the best thing I've heard from them in years
| |
Yeah this is suprising, good song and shit.
| |
Love the thrashy riffs
| |
This sounds like Sum 41? Oooooooooh maybe they're re-creating Meteora.
| |
Meteora never riffed this hard
| |
Still think Mike should've rapped the verse.
| |
Rakim's a legend
| |
I know but Mike's voice and flow just fits perfectly over those riffs.
| |
meh
| |
I feel like I'm the only one here who truly loves the change in sound
| |
Far, far better than recharged. Still it needs some of the mr hahn scratching, which is like acid
| |
I just wish it had more electro stuff going on
| |
I think they want to get away from the DJ scratching. They've stated in the past they won't go back to nu-metal. Maybe the next album will be more influenced by punk and thrash?
If so, that would be kickass
| |
Listening to this again, it actually is a lot better than my first take. Wish the rap had been done by Mike, but actually grew quickly on me
| |
rakim, lettin urself go there eh bud
| |
Needs Eric B
| |
Hahn scratching wont make this nu-metal it'll just make it sound better how do they not realize this.
| |
Pretty heavy, very welcome surprise
| |
I think they want to get away from the DJ scratching. They've stated in the past they won't go back to nu-metal. Maybe the next album will be more influenced by punk and thrash?
They don't need to go back to nu-metal, but LP has always had a "digital" sort of sound, which seems to be missing here.
Other than that, I like the song
| |
"Guilty All the Same" is probably their best song to date. I'm not really a fan of Linkin Park, but this new track seems to be a step in the right direction.
| |
how they get rakim old ass on here lmao
| |
seriously tho this is just bland
| |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OeWLFPx2kM
| |
The instrumentals sound like a bad avenged sevenfold cover
| |
well I guess it's not COMPLETE shit
| |
Bland, repetitive and ultimately forgettable. Shame as at least the recent stuff was more experimental yet catchy and they seemed to have carved a niche. This song is a huge backwards step IMO, saying that it wouldn't have made a Meteora b-side even (and I don't rate that record).
| |
Guess they are done with experimenting. Best song since Meteora
| |
Damn. This is good
| |
The surprise is how low Rakim has gone here right?
| |
nah his rap is fine
| |
Not my point
| |
I know what your point was
| |
Hope this is like Never Never, from Korn's new LP. The worst song on the album when the rest are actually really good.
| |
If this is the worst song on the album then the album's gonna top Hybrid
and this slays Never Never so hard
| |
Oh totally, Never Never was absolute garbage, this is just okay.
| |
I think I'm probably the person on the site who loves this song the most because it's the one I've
been waiting for so long
| |
Its growing on me
| |
For the last three albums I waited for them to be heavier...
and now they've done it!
| |
I still wholeheartedly believe that A Thousand Suns is their best record. I was sorta hoping for a mix of ATS's conceptual and consistency prowess and the aggression of Hybrid Theory. Instead I got A7X with Rakim
| |
At least it isn't Hail to the King-era A7X
| |
sucks
| |
True that Green
| |
If they shaved off like half a minute of the intro it'd be perfect
| |
More like City Of Evil A7X, still don't like the intro though
| |
if the very beginning of that intro was cut, the part before the piano, that would be great.
| |
Nah that riff is what sells it as a heavier song
| |
Well the riff is repeated during and after the piano part so its still there, just not overused
| |
When I heard Mike's early release of the riff I got so excited for it
| |
I heard it to and was pretty stoked
| |
yet the end result wasn't
| |
Really didn't like Chester in this song, he sound so unmelodic as if he was singing to a slightly different song
| |
He's supposed to be more aggressive
| |
It doesn't work for me
| |
The aggressiveness is the main reason why I love it so much
| |
Yeah but he could have sang it differently with but still sound aggressive. He needs to hold his notes long on the song especially and a scream at the end would do the song a world of good.
| |
Disappointed about the no scream though
| |
Does this sound like Billy Talent to anyone else?
| |
Instrumentation is sick as hell, but actually vocal part could be better. I hope that this song have a outstanding live version, the live versions of most of the living things songs were not that great ( with the exception of the mash up between victimized and qwerty )
| |
I wouldn't waste my time shazamming to get ahold of this shit.
| |
"Those bands weren’t afraid to try something different..."
Yeah they were.
| |
Definitely in the same vein as QWERTY, just not as good
| |
surprising
better than the shit they've been doing since meteora
| |
This is better than QWERTY
| |
next bohemian rhapsody right here
| |
There's a radio edit for those interested:
Takes out Rakim and the long intro, shaves it to like 3:44
| |
QWERTY is way better than this.
| |
linkin park surprise sounds like a shitty middle school cafeteria dish
| |
*Listens to intro*
Hmmm, doesn't sound so bad. Decent start, maybe it will get better.
*4 minutes later*
Well, they did nothing with the potential they started with and now they're throwing in a rap verse that doesn't even flow with the music. Adding a rap verse to a garage jam is not what I'm looking for. Fuck these guys.
| |
after listening to that new AFI hardcore side project, i feel 100% violated listening to this..
| |
Damn I thought this would be getting acclaim from the userbase guess I was wrong ha
| |
It's Linkin Park they'd have to make a fucking classic to get acclaim from this userbase.
| |
Hybrid Theory is the closest they'll ever get
| |
Sum 41 cover
| |
horrendous chorus but its not bad otherwise
| |
