LCD Soundsystem Issue Box Set 2014-02-27 by Nash J! | 6 Comments | LCD Soundsystem have announced that on April 19th, they will be issuing a five-LP box set.
Entitled The Long Goodbye: LCD Soundsystem Live at Madison Square Garden, the box set
will feature the band's four-hour final concert, recorded three years ago.
The box set was mixed and produced by frontman James Murphy himself. When compared to the
audio from the theatrical version of the concert, Shut Up and Play the Hits, Murphy
stated "The film is mixed for your eye and the record is mixed for your ears...the
record [The Long Goodbye] is just mixed analog to tape, the way I normally do. But it
took forever, because I’m not really on a label anymore."
The set will be released digitally on May 20th, 2014.
