Mike Kenneally and Gene Hoglan played with them for touring, and Mike is definitely known for playing metal so there must be nothing interesting in the music they put out.

They probably just did it for laughs and money though, since putting your life on hold and being away from your family for 3 to 6 months for a joke band is definitely the smart thing to do. Especially if it is to please 15 year old outcasts.

They just released a 40-minute rock opera episode. That's worth almost half a season's run-time
alone. Like all of their episodes, this one also featured music from the "band." Why would they NOT
release it? And it's not like Small works on the animation for the show himself, so his spending time
writing/recording for the band shouldn't at all impede the progress of the new season.
