Protest The Hero new drummer

2013-10-10 by 3ddie | 13 Comments
Canadian prog metal band Protest The Hero have announced that drummer Michael Ieradi will replace Moe Carlson not only through the upcoming album tour, but permanently.

Despite being also the drummer for The Kindred, according to PTH's facebook:

"What's that you say? Mike is already in another band? Yes, he is. He will be playing
in 2 bands on this upcoming tour. He will be opening with his band The Kindred and will
then wrap the night up playing with us. Despite pulling double duty on this tour, he IS the newest member of pth and will hopefully be with us until we hang up the old jazz picks. No
pressure Mike!"

saw the kindred live a couple months back. he sounded proficient at the very least. was hard to hear him playing though, tbh

I think I remember liking the drumming for Today I Caught The Plague. They could do worse. Shame he couldn't have made/recorded the drums for the album, but whatevs

Today i caught the plagues is pretty terrible doe, although protest the hero had a shitty drummer to begin with so not that it is going to make a difference

I always thought Moe was the weakest member. Not saying he was bad because he was definitely a solid drummer, just nothing particularly special. I'm sure this guy will be the same way.

I'm impressed that so many people are complaining about Moe. Moe is a really solid drummer that plays polyrhytms and halvnotes all over the place and can change tempo in an instant along with the rest of the music. Moe is a good drummer for sure. Too bad he'll be replaced now, but glad it's not by Adler, his sound doesn't fit with PtH
