I'd rather see this than them just noodling about with their instruments. That's what performing live is for. Music videos are an opportunity for the audience to see what goes through the artist's head. With this, they're undoubtedly going to attract an audience that appreciates Star Wars. Someone will approach a Star Wars fan that is their friend, show them the video, and lo and behold, the band has gained a fan. Music videos are just that: An attempt to gain new fans. A simple performance video may not do that as much as a comedic or story-driven one.

Maybe I'm going out on a limb here but I assumed that since the lyrics appear to be about nuclear warfare, they're comparing the pettiness of nations fighting to nerds fighting about their favorite franchises. I could be utterly incorrect but that was definitely what I thought it was supposed to mean.

Terrible music video. LARPing has become the "mom jokes"(low hanging fruit) of nerd culture. It's the equivalent of someone saying "That's what she said!" every couple minutes.
