"yay fisher price hardcore" - Xenophanes, 2013
| |
Rules.
| |
Need to listen on better speakers but it sounded good
| |
Can someone remind me of the band name of all of the Travels-Era Defeater guys? Jay had another band that released an album the same year as Travels and I'm struggling to remember what their name was
| |
fuck yeah
| |
"Can someone remind me of the band name of all of the Travels-Era Defeater guys? Jay had another band that released an album the same year as Travels and I'm struggling to remember what their name was"
Sluts. Was basically Defeater, just without Derrick and any sort of narrative.
| |
3/5
| |
pretty cool track
| |
That's not it. Sluts was Defeater and then they changed their name. I'm talking about a different band that had the same drummer, bassist and Jay. It was more technical kinda post hardcore and Jay was on vocals and guitar
| |
Jay was also in November 5, 1955
| |
sounds good, like i will probably like the album better than edsn
| |
"November 5, 1955 "
That's it! Thank you!
Looks like I was wrong about the members. They share both of Defeaters guitarists though
| |
oh yes. the singers vocals sound much more like on Travels than on "empty days" dig so much.
| |
may be but i guess on final product its different
| |
always good to know
| |
this track was ok. this band's always been kind of a bore for me though.
| |
Track listing:
1. Bastards
2. No Shame
3. Hopeless Again
4. Blood in My Eyes
5. No Relief
6. No Faith
7. Dead Set
8. No Saviour
9. Rabbit Foot
10. Bled Out
| |
was OK I guess
| |
Pretty good. The ending repetition sucked though.
| |
already better than ED&SN
| |
Oh man this is awesome. Album will rule hard as expected.
| |
This rules man. Diggin this so much.
| |
song was okay on first listen but disappointing. Hopefully it'll grow and the rest of the album will rule.
| |
if this song is an indication of anything this will be a pretty awesome album, too bad all their other shit sucks.
| |
1. The song is more raw than the band's latest album
I disagree
| |
I don't know if 'raw' was the word you were looking for...
| |
Sluts was defeater?!
| |
Pretty good. Ending was weak though.
| |
Link doesn't work. What. The. Fuck.
| |
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=R7y-fGeNods
fucking great shit
| |
More 'Travels' esq.
| |
Vocals are best they've ever been
| |
I'm very pleased. Album should be great.
| |
sounds like their trying to do their best departures imitation
| |
Link doesn't work. What. The. Fuck.
Take the "s" out of https
| |
Pomped!
| |
Not bad
| |
Best new music I've heard in a while.
| |
Good god that was awesome.
| |
The Lanasters send their regards...
| |
"if this song is an indication of anything this will be a pretty awesome album, too bad all their other shit sucks."
yeah cause it's soooooo different from their other stuff
| |
yes. this is good. yay.
| |
Ending is awesome
| |
Much better than ED&SN, so yay.
| |
they need to change up their style a bit imo, still solid though
| |
Can't wait to sit down and read the lyrics when I can
| |
Love the melody here. The vocals sound way rawer though, more grit to them I guess you could say.
| |
Song was okay, I just can't really get into this band.
| |
This did next to nothing for me. Probably wasn't that bad but Defeater songs hit me harder within the context of an album. That's why nobody gave a fuck about the "Dear Father" single.
| |
great song
| |
Listened to it a few more time through and, yeah, this is a good song. Album should be good.
| |
sounds like lost ground. album should be good
i do feel that after this album they should end this story and start a new one tho
| |
Meh, fixed link-- sorry about that, should work now.
| |
Why do they have to do a story at all? Just be a "regular" band after this.
| |
Is it just me or is the sound quality shit?
| |
Yeah a bit.
I wonder if Derek did the vocals on this album smashed as wll?
| |
Is it just me or is the sound quality shit?
Yep.
| |
Nah, next album is obvs going to be from the pov of the train.
| |
what's up with hardcore bands and the word 'bastard'
| |
awful joke, good song.
| |
in the news article
| |
Looking good so far.
| |
Sorry about the joke, I'll make sure my next news article is as excruciatingly generic and devoid of depth as the other ones around here!!
| |
It made me laugh Jacob, don't give up in your efforts to make news more interesting
| |
A Defeater cover of Tyler The creator would be pretty awesome, tho.
| |
Not bad.
| |
I can't really judge a song from these guys
any single song from them is like a 3.5 at maximum, all their stuff is meant to be heard in order.
| |
Awesoommmeee
| |
Beautiful track.
| |
just stop
| |
ahhahahahahah
| |
This is the first Defeater song I could listen to more than three or four times
| |
Derek's scream on this is starting to resemble Buddy from Senses Fail.
| |
^ha
no
| |
2. It is not, contrary to popular belief, a cover of Tyler, the Creator's first album.
yo omaha did you steal this joke from sowingseason
| |
144p wtf is this 1999
| |
"Derek's scream on this is starting to resemble Buddy from Senses Fail."
except not at all
but yeah i like this a lot
| |
this is so good.
| |
song was better on listens after but honestly not that great.....hoping this isn't an indication for the rest of the album.
| |
yeah I'm not really feeling this
| |
song's aight, but, not that aight.
| |
i dunno, but i'm liking the production and the bass tone
| |
