Never heard of him but RIP

RIP
leaving las vegas style.
|
| |
39...that's way too young
RIP
|
| |
I hadn't heard of him until today, and today my twitter feed was dominated by this news, RIP
|
| |
Know the name, not his music. Still, RIP.
|
| |
I met him once in 08 at some show in Cleveland. Didn't even remember why the name was familiar until I thought back. I've never really listened to his music but he was a very cool, humble and down to earth dude. I'm glad he was able to get clean before he went. RIP
|
| |
What a shame... It sucks too, since it sounds like he recovered from his alcoholism, but it just came back and bit him in the butt.
Never heard of him, but RIP.
|
| |
One of my favorite people and favorite songwriters
RIP you will be missed very much

don't mean to be a dick but this is pretty poorly written
also RIP. will check his stuff out when i get a chance.
|

"don't mean to be a dick but..."
and you're just gonna power right thru it.
but yeah, yeah I was afraid this was gonna be another Charlie Louvin, Earl Scruggs, or Doc Watson situation where a great musician dies and doesn't get a write up over here so I felt the need to do a just in case news article.
Turns out it wasn't needed since Jash wrote one up. for some reason they chose mine probably cuz it was submitted first.
I'd recommend reading the obituary I linked to in the article it's very good and touching plus some one in the comments over there makes a horrible (but sort of funny in I-feel-like-absolute-shit-for-laughing-at-that way) joke about the Catching Molinas.
|
| |
damn right i am. if you're gonna submit news to a semi-credible news site, at least make sure it's written properly.
|
| |
it was written fine, man, that comment was unnecessary
thank you for letting people know and hopefully getting a few more into this mans timeless, heartfelt music
|
| |

|

Kris doesn't recognize that Archer reference. He's a horrible human being.

On live Songs: Ohia & Magnolia Electric Co.
|

It's so weird that he's more appreciated overseas than in the States. He was my favorite singer-songwriter of his generation and an all-around great guy. RIP Jason.
|
| |
Way too young to go.

|

I think I got a Songs: Ohia album from a sputnik (well, MF) mailing list like ten years ago
