Rare Hydra Head merch

2013-01-29 by dimsim3478 | 18 Comments
A large collection of rare and out-of-print merch from former Isis frontman Aaron Turner's soon to be defunct label, Hydra Head Records, has been put up for sale at the webstore Real Tomato Ketchup. The collection includes a huge collection of the label's out-of-print back catalogue, said to be on sale so that Turner can pay off Hydra Head's "rather sizable debts". This catalogue spans a huge amount of various rare vinyl presses from Isis, Jesuit and Torche, a massive 30-CD "grab box" for only $100, and an assortment of clothing, posters, cassettes, rare art, and even a Melvins comic book. For the collector with quite a bit of money to spare, both a custom aluminium guitar and a Hiwatt lead 100 amplifier used by Aaron Turner (the latter also used by Nate Newton of Converge) are up for grabs at $1500 and $1000, respectively. Hydra Head also commented on the site that some of the funds gathered from this sale will go towards further represses.

In September of last year, Hydra Head Records released a statement called "The Imminent Demise of Hydra Head Records" in which they detailed their decision to eventually close the record label once all debts have been paid off and that no new releases will be available from the label, though they will maintain their back catalogue for the foreseeable future.

Got the clear 2nd press Panopticon and the black 10th anniversary Red Sea. Edition of 89, fools. I'd get more but I have no freaking money.

I've got most Isis on vinyl to begin with. Still very sad that Turner's record label went under, they put out a lot of great records over the years.

"I live in Australia and that's the general price for vinyl (depending on the album). I'd happily pay $45 for Panopticon. But I don't get paid til Thursday and what I want will no doubt be sold out by then."

I'd give you shit but even I am not that cruel.
