Sect(s) is pretty good, but I didn't dig The Desanctification at all. Hoping this one is better.

i listened to this (not sure why) and was kind of surprised

its certainly lightyears ahead of the two piece of shit albums that came before it but it still drags on and on and on. not to mention those clean vox are annoying as fuck

On a first listen I think that BAN couldn't have find a better/fitting way to close the trilogy.

The first 2:30 of the third track sounds a lot like Alcest. A shiver ran up my spine.

Am I the only person who liked Desanctification? Haven't listened to this one yet but I'm sure I'll like it, too.

No Slade, you're not the only one who liked Desanctification.

And as expected, this is pretty awesome. Gotta listen to it more to have any idea what to rate it, but right now I'm digging it.

Am I the only one that really enjoyed their last two albums? This is like the icing on the cake.

Sect... was alot like their old stuff unless you don't like anything from this band to begin with?

Upon first and not very close listen, it's very plain and dull. There's not a whole lot going on, the vocals sound emotionless and forgettable and the guitar work seems bland and uninspiring. The songwriting doesn't strike me as anything special at all either and it doesn't even achieve a good ambient or spacey quality, it just seems uneventful and forgettable.

This is just my initial opinion and like I said I haven't listened as thoroughly as I can. Sorry to be a party pooper.

sect(s) had a similar sound to the earlier material but sounded too artificial and lacked flow and atmosphere. desanctification was better but still didn't quite hit the mark in any of those areas, despite being good.

this hits the mark though, this album shows the style of those albums can actually work really well when done right, i adore it, it's their best recording since memoria vetusta ii easily

Not true but please try again : ). But nothing can hold a candle to the frightening Odinist. That album is like the perfect grafting of industrial/ black metal/ spooky atmosphere.

I may have been a little harsh the first time around, but it's still not really doing anything for me.
