I think Soulja's verse is pretty good and that's the only good part of the album. The "this is why racism exists" comments make me think that the majority of people don't really get what this song is trying to achieve and think that hip-hop isn't allowed to be a lil ignant which is dumb.

His verse has a good rhyme scheme, it sets a cool trap atmosphere, it manages to have energy regardless of the fact that he's not doing Waka-level screaming in-your-face, it has a really nice flow. I don't think he particularly think any of it is lyrical genius. Like I don't think he writes this stuff down and then considers nominating it for a Pulitzer but that's not really the point either. The lyrics are just kind of there to be fun and flow.

On his music? In 2011 he had banger after banger in terms of production. On tracks that he produced himself? I guess that's arguable. I think he can do a pretty good job and make phat beats, just kind of simple but still cray.

It seems like he's been taking lessons from Young L and Lil Keis since that's where a lot of his sound comes from in his own production.

He has just a really unique appeal and lane. Like whether or not you think it's for better or worse he genuinely is a unique character with a really unique style. Even though he's been influenced by Lil B's more experimental style and fun "cooking songs" he's kept his own lane and only been delving further into that. It's really hard to get into but after a while of listening to it and getting used to it, it just...clicks. I guess around 2011 when he started getting more artistic integrity and actually started making music because he genuinely liked doing it, he's been more about just being fun with these crazy beats and flow-of-consciousness rapping and busts out these freestyled cool rhyme schemes(usually about typical trap shit) and you just see after all this he's this kid looking to have fun with what he does and be swagged out as FUQQ.
