In Flames Tours Without Bjorn

2006-12-02 by carney3110 | 9 Comments
Earlier this year, In Flames' guitarist Jesper Stromblad announced that he would be taking a break for personal reasons, stating that he had "personal issues to deal with." Well, you can cross another name off the list.

Second guitarist Bjorn Gelotte is sitting the upcoming North American tour out to be with his wife as she gives birth to their second child. His replacement until December 20th will be Enrik Danhage from Evergrey. Danhage will take the stage with Anders, Peter, Daniel, and Jesper's replacement, Niklas Enelgin, for a total of fourteen shows.

However, according to In Flames' official website, there is nothing to worry about. It claims that in Flames is not thinking about breaking up and that there is no way Jesper or Bjorn are leaving the band.

This really sucks. I was planning on going to see them in a week, even without Jesper, but no Bjorn? Maybe I'll just wait till next time...

I saw them without Jesper at Unholy Alliance a couple of weeks ago. Niklas knows what he is doing though. But Bjorn as well? Jeez...

How the hell can the band justify touring without their key backbone members? They should do everyone a favor and just postpone the tour. I mean, as a fan, if I were going to one of these shows, I would be really pissed. This Message Edited On 12.02.06

Henrik is more than capable of filling in though. Personally, I'd rather see him than the other guys.

Then again, I love Evergrey, and In Flames I'm indifferent about.

Jeez, In Flames is not having a good start for '07. I can't envision much positive crowd reaction with both of their guitarists missing, hopefully things turn out alright for them.

Yeah indeed. They were awesome at SOTU and it's good they are not splitting up but this sort of does suck for the hardcore (of the band not the genre) fans.

Hopefully they will both be back when I catch them at Dubai desert rock with Children of bodom.

I just saw them on Sunday in Chicago.

I knew Jesper wasnt going to be there. But when I saw someone other than Bjorn on the right side of the stage I was pissed!!!

WTF???? BOTH guitarists gone?

It did kind of spoil the show for me.

I will say that the band still sounded fantastic and both guitarists did a great job. They played their asses off and did the band proud. It still sounded like In Flames. Anders, Daniel, and Peter delivered the goods with the rookies in tow.
