to me, goblin was VERY hit or miss. some songs (yonkers, tron cat) are sensational, but others simply blow or are overly-long. hoping this new one will be consistent. and, needless to say, but for fuck's sake let's get earl back soon.

Hodgy Beats has gotten a lot better at rapping (which is to say he isn't terrible anymore and doesn't make up random words to say just so he sounds like he has a dense rhyme scheme), but some of the songs previewed from the album have been great (65 is one of the best songs I've heard from any OF release, 67 is pretty great, too) and some stuff I'd like to hear less of (64, the fucking annoying hook in 45)

I never said Tyler was going to be serious, but if Tyler's initial appeal was his perversity (and I'm not saying that was the hook for everyone, but it was for a lot of people), then I think it's completely understandable to see people really not investing too much into this
